Bit too long-winded though. Brexit is short and sweet. :)

Which is anything but what the actual process will be.

I haven't seen today's Guardian but I'm sure they covered the votes. Why wouldn't they?

They covered it, yes - but they made far more of the HoL defeats, as if those were unexpected.

I'm sure the original report made it clear that the government would use their majority to steamroller their plans through. Perhaps you could tell us how much space the Daily Mail devoted to giving the case for the Lords amendments.

Someone answering Remainers on another forum who still won't accept that we're leaving.

"The UK's ability to Revoke Article 50 ceases after 23h00 on Jan 31st. The UK will have no representation in the Council or in the Parliament it will have left the EU irregardless as to how long the extension lasts

The Lords can keep pinging things back, but Article 50 is International Law, International Law overrides Domestic Law. The UK will leave the EU on Jan 31st under International Law"

This thread could pretty much be summarised as leftwingers discussing ramifications and logical consequences while rightwingers simply ignore discussion and intermittently make unrelated statements.

Pretty much modern British politics in a nutshell.

Are you seriously claiming the left is more rational, when their ideology has failed to deliver numerous times?

No one SANE here can ever pretend ANY political party/direction is ideal (unless it's Trump and you're Crazy Chris obviously) but yeah why not go back to conservative times with abortion ban, commonplace racism, homophobia, less freedom, etc.? Because it worked SO FUCKING WELL decades ago.

Laughable. Freedom and acceptance is the way forward. Sorry but old school conservatives are doomed and a dying breed because change is essential for survival.

I'm yet to see what kind of GOOD conservative politics has potential to bring or HAS brought. OBJECTIVELY. (Meaning for the absolute majority and not just middle aged white male cishets. Needed to clarify that just in case)

I'm trying to thing of a response to this that won't annoy people here, but I am at a loss... :P

You should be straight about the opinions you hold that you know will annoy people tbh.

I think the more annoying thing is lack of constructive dialogue than conservative views themselves honestly. As much as I can appreciate sarcasm and arrogant smirks once in a while they get tiring to deal with every single time in a response to a serious argument.

And risk getting suspended?

If it was *just* from N&P, that wouldn't be an issue, but I rather like posting on the chart forum... :P

Exactly. You can't voice your real opinions here or you may get warned or stopped from posting or banned completely. Better to keep quiet I think. It's not just here either. Look at the stick I get here and on my Facebook for supporting Trump yet he was democratically elected and is favourite to win a second term no matter who his opponent is. My lifelong friend that I've known 55 years since first day at school had a right go at me last night over Brexit. He said "I have a business which may go under thanks to twerps like you who just voted because of immigration" so I said "so what, it'll be fine" He hates Boris and Trump too and is a millionaire so we have nothing in common these days.

Or at least watered-down versions of them.

What recent elections & referenda have shown though, is that despite what the Left like to pretend, opposition to the 'progressive' agenda has not gone away - it is merely keeping quiet until people reach the ballot box.

I greatly applaud your friend for saying that. 👏🏻 👏🏻

He wanted to meet up with me last year for a meal when he came down to London on business but I declined, said I was too busy, as we're like chalk and cheese now and have absolutely nothing in common whatsoever.

Lmao y'all hiding behind the "we will get banned" excuse.

If you actually went and started a well informed discussion with us, maybe you wouldnt be accused of trolling. Maybe if you stopped playing the so called devils advocate, maybe you wouldnt be accused of trolling. Maybe if you made some points that weren't factually disproven or misproven by just THINKING you wouldnt be accused of trolling

I mean if you can't defend your believes, are they really YOUR believes or are they other peoples believes that you adapted cause you liked the sound of it. Please explain this to me

That's funny given the most unprovoked violence usually comes from dumbasses with right-wing views.

And when has anyone from the liberal side of thing EVER said that?! We have to stand up against people who try to control our own lives (who to marry, be able to get an abortion, be ourselves in public, not get in trouble for our skin colour, etc.) EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

Gosh this "watered down" comment makes it sound like your REAL opinions are especially outrageously. Scary stuff.
