I mean if they tried to understand then they may realise what's inherently wrong with the EU and why other countries may want to leave in the future. It's like a marriage breaking down. Yes by all means grant the divorce but surely mediation is better to understand what's gone wrong?

No, they might realise that most of the reasons people give have got sod all to do with the EU.

One reason I do see a lot on Twitter, Facebook and other forums is "Taking back our country" and "letting our own Parliament make our laws" People think the EU rules us now with so much red tape. How do we change that mindset? It won't just change by revoking A50.

By the way, has the EU ever thought to themselves I wonder, why the UK public voted to leave. There must be reasons after all.

You can't name one good bloody reason and you've just been called out on it, and again failed to provide an answer! Pull the other one.

I have named two huge reasons that influenced many Brexiteers, immigration and saving money but you lot dismiss them out of hand. Pity remain didn't make a better case for staying in then and addressed these two worries that people have.

If they're the two main reasons then why keep dismissing them. Am not saying immigration will necessarily reduce but we'll have more control and can allow in who we want.

Have these people seen any of the government adverts over the last few weeks? You know, those adverts about all the extra red tape that will be necessary if we leave.

They have been dismissed with facts to back them up.

WE HAVE CONTROL OVER WHO CAN COME TO THIS COUNTRY!!!!!!!!

Not a single one of the other 27 are even close to wanting to leave, and support has only grown since 2016.

Britain's the anomaly here, not the EU.

Yes from outside the EU. For example it's difficult to get a visitors visa from Philippines, Thailand, India, China etc etc. Not from inside the EU though as they can just walk in. The eu is like one big country.

Anyway I'm only one of 17.4 million so I can't say why they all voted out. I just know that the ones I know and have asked have said one word beginning with I.

But how often do we actually exercise that control?

As you've been told many times, EU rules (introduced because the UK insisted on it) allow us to remove people after three months if they are dependent on benefits. The UK is the only country that does nothing to use those powers.

But how often do we actually exercise that control?

Irrelevant. It is a matter for the UK government, not the EU. That's the point.

But if that's the case, they will be exposed if/when we leave the EU and nothing changes...

Why do you think Johnson wants an election so soon?

Why would any new PM want an election? To get a working majority.

People voted in 2017 for the Parliament they wanted to run for the next 5 years under the Fixed Term Parliaments Act. Disgraceful that our Government is trying to overturn the will of the people by calling for a new election to get what they want when the vote hasn’t been fully implemented.

Nothing to do with getting it out of the way before people realise what a disaster the B word will be?

Yes and it's disgraceful how some are trying to get another referendum when we've had one and it's result isn't yet implemented.

Anyway, ignoring the circular arguments of the last few pages, which can be summed up by 'in general the public know and care little about the EU'.. we can probably blame the Financial Crisis and the policies implemented to solve the problems that have extended now for more than a decade since as being one of the major catalysts (but it didn't have to be).

What I wanted to point out was, the only route to remain is now a general election:

Hi Michael. Well we should do as we pay so much in. All that money can be used for our pensioners, sick and disabled or NHS.

And you really think a government who are knowingly and deliberately bleeding our public services dry are gonna do that, do you?

So delusional.
