Will people actually want to bring life into a post Brexit Britain? Surely not everyone is as slapdash with contraception as the prime minister?
He also seems to forget most people who voted brexshit were old, and that it got 27% of the population. The Olympics included everyone. Brexshit excludes 70% of rhe population.

I don't see any reason why not. He may be right about a feel-good factor.

Again, no. Hardly anyone young voted for brexshit. The neoliberal conditions and increased racism and fascism it's brought in are not conducive to wanting to start a family for most people. The end.
There will be no 'feel good' factor about Brexit, bar whatever little bravado Brexiteers will boast at 'getting our country back' or whatever after the transition period (which will be well over a year away anyway), what's the plan then? Oh yes, we haven't got one, that'll be fun.

I think there'll be quite a few champagne corks popped at midnight on Jan. 31st if Boris gets his majority

Wonder if Boris will propose extended pub opening hours as it's a Friday.

Urgh I had that dream of the tories having a massive firrwork display for brexshit after crashing out. Hope it wasn't prophetic.
He's also lying about getting the UK out of the transition period (where we are out of the EU but effectively everything regarding trade etc. operates as it currently is) by the end of 2020, when it is more likely to be December 2022.

Throwing NI under a bus and making them the sacrificial lamb for this deal is going to effectively put a huge strain on the peace process.

Barnier has come out to say that there’s a 0% chance for a trade deal by 31/12/20. No surprise to those of us with functioning brains who saw this sham deal for what it was, no deal by the trap door, only after it’s too late to simply revoke A50 and save our membership/country

Some of us don't *want* it saved.

You talk as if the country's going to sink in to the sea after Brexit. No wonder some Brexiteers are changing their minds like T.Boy's mum. Scaremongering. Well most of us stand firm and won't be swayed.

You talk as if the country's going to sink in to the sea after Brexit or something equally as bad. No wonder some Brexiteers are changing their minds like T.Boy's mum. Scaremongering. Well most of us stand firm and won't be swayed. We'll be fine. The sun will still rise and set and life will go on as much the same for most people.

My mum is not the victim of scaremongering, thank you very much. She just has the ability to reflect and think about people who aren’t her.

Just seen this on Twiter.

Get Brexit Done" is an anagram of "Being Extorted"

It is also an anagram of "Bigot Extender"

The 2016 vote has been dismissed by some as 'only advisory' - the 2019 GE result *cannot* be...

Edited by vidsanta

I’m not denying the result means we will be leaving. Howver, if you’re wishing to take that tone, 52% voted for remain/second referendum parties, 48% voted for leave.

I’ve been told for the past 3 and a half years that 52% is a decisive majority.

I guess the Leave side were able to concentrate their vote better.

Obviously there’s no question we will be leaving now. Those of us who wished to remain must hold the government to account if things for our country get worse. We’ve been promised the world by leaving the EU, I await them to deliver everything exactly the way they sold it to us in 2016.

A very useful blog post to read to quickly avail yourself of the issues that Johnson's government will face over the next year in "getting Brexit done".

Some have already been discussed but important points are that there'll now be a scramble to pass the Withdrawal Agreement that will probably go through, but the transition period is very likely to be extended in order to get trade deals done and will probably cause another crisis/extension begging around the middle of next year.

There's so much misinformation and scaremongering about Brexit. Corner shop owner last night when I went in said "Hi Chris are you happy then? All the foreigners out after 31st January!" I told him that won't happen at all and neither should it. I don't know where these wrong assumptions are coming from. Was glad there was no-one else in the shop!
