November 25, 20196 yr I can't at Liam Gallagher in September actually selling only 10k or so less than Coldplay in November. Talk about underperformance...
November 25, 20196 yr Coldplay below the Monday midweek figure that Westlife had last week :( On course for a really huge drop from the opening of their last album and even from 'Ghost Stories', I really thought they'd still pretty comfortably do 100k+ first week with this album irrespective of general album sales decline / the lack of a top 10 single but I guess not... hopefully it can at least go on to beat Westlife's first week total since it does have some streaming presence. On the flipside those are really decent sales for Robbie for a Christmas album which hasn't produced anything even close to a hit single. 'The Heavy Entertainment Show' only did 67k first week (also being a November release) and this looks like it'll come fairly close to that! Think with a Robbie Xmas album the single may peak nearer to Xmas. Anyway poor sales for both, thought they and especially Coldplay would be closer to 100k. Shows how great Liam's sales continue to be for the last two releases!
November 25, 20196 yr Top 3 albums are pretty much solid, Rod Stewart should maintain #3 quite easily, since he has began touring again, playing at the O2 Arena next month.

November 25, 20196 yr People are massively underestimating Robbie Williams here, I think. The only people to have more UK number 1 albums than him are The Beatles and Elvis! I'm tipping him for Christmas No.1 album unless Harry Styles, out Friday 13th is huge. Edited November 25, 20196 yr by common sense
November 25, 20196 yr Robbie’s team desperately trying to make up the difference - they have added a bundle to his website for a signed CD, Red Cassette and Green Cassette for £18. Westlife will hopefully be pushed out of the Top 10 when streaming gets added. This has always been an option on his website. I bought that bundle although I have no means to play the cassettes anymore. He signed 10,000 of them. I wish him the best of luck with sales. I think most Robbie fans are expectant that Coldplay will sell more this week but I'm hoping closer to Christmas he might get another chance. :)
November 25, 20196 yr Kylie is much higher than i was expecting, i know she may drop through the week but if it remains Top 25 i would be delighted with that. Take That, suffering a huge drop which i did expect, but the album has done better than what i feared it would. Rod Stewart, 20k is highly respectable but i expected him to be closer to Robbie Williams and Coldplay sales than he is, all 3 have very positive sales. I would great welcome Sigala and Ella Henderson taking that Top 40 position but dont think they will hold on and i would say the same for Little Mix. Edited November 25, 20196 yr by pippa
November 25, 20196 yr If any Christmas song deserves Xmas #1 this year, it’s Wham! WROOONG! Mariah literally had her no.1 STOLEN from her. She deserves it.
November 25, 20196 yr Looks like in addition to the Christmas classics Ellie Goulding's Amazon exclusive 'River' is #71 today, good to see (although I've yet to hear her version of it as I don't have an Amazon Music subscription). This is the Joni Mitchell song, not Eminem/Ed Sheeran if anyone was worried :P I remember seeing that she'd done a cover of that the other week but didn't know that it had actually been released (albeit only on Amazon). Interesting to see if this can end up charting as highly as 'Cozy Little Christmas' did on Amazon streams alone...
November 25, 20196 yr Why listen to Ellie when Train did a far far better version of it? Theirs is the original too.
November 25, 20196 yr Would love to know how much preorders and daily sales Coldplay & Robbie have had so far so we get a bit of an idea how fast and steady they are selling. This is the first week of Q4 when the Xmas effect is obviously apparent not just with more big releases but with the sales further down rising a lot.
November 25, 20196 yr Robbie's fallen from 2 to No.6 now on the Amazon sales chart with Coldplay holding at No.1.

Is this a Xmas song or are you comparing it due to them both being Amazon exclusives?
November 25, 20196 yr Is this a Xmas song or are you comparing it due to them both being Amazon exclusives? Apparently it is a Christmas song (I'm not sure I've ever heard it x) but yes, I'm just comparing them because of both being Amazon exclusives.
November 25, 20196 yr It's one song I've never had on my Xmas playlists ever. And my Xmas playlist is 150 songs deep these days.
