December 25, 20195 yr Gone are the days when the biggest hits of the year are performed. I didn't even know James Blunt had any music out this year. It's changed a lot since the weekly show bit the dust. With no past performances (or special performances recorded at the same time as the weekly show) to hand, it's a question of who they can book to perform live on a couple days in December. And one of them is Jack Savoretti.
December 25, 20195 yr Mabel, Jax Jones and Sigala, great performances, but they really scrapping the barrel with artists, and some are linked to the voice and X Factor TV shows.
December 25, 20195 yr The Labrinth song is one of the better actual songs to have been performed but he's really the absolute bottom of the barrel for relevant artists to book in 2019. He doesn't even sell albums any more.
December 25, 20195 yr No1 to follow I guess after this bit of a dismal show. My favourite performances from Mabel, Jax and Sigala.
December 25, 20195 yr I quite enjoyed the show really. I thought the line up looked naff but a lot of the acts I knew the songs without knowing the artist.
December 25, 20195 yr Mabel's performance was good, and surprisingly Lewis Capaldi's voice was more bearable to listen to live than on the record for some reason. AJ and Jorja...again, no stage presence at all drama.gif Was it Jorja Smith who sung the chorus of Ladbroke Grove on TOTP Christmas? I thought the Ladbroke Grove performance was quite good anyway, the audience there certainly seemed to like it. Edited December 25, 20195 yr by XmasIslandSnake
December 25, 20195 yr Yeah those BBC Julia Donaldson productions have always been Magic Light IIRC. Used to be David Walliams book adaptations iirc, but did they run out of books by him to adapt?
December 25, 20195 yr Will be watching this later in the week as I was out all day but looking forward to it. Did Jack perform 'Candlelight'?
December 25, 20195 yr Author Used to be David Walliams book adaptations iirc, but did they run out of books by him to adapt? They've been doing both on and off (Donaldson Christmas Day, Walliams usually Boxing Day or New Years Day) - they still have loads of each authors they could adapt.
