It's the second of two songs for Madison Beer, and Jax's highest position this year. There's several more collaborations in this section, too - Lauv and Troye Sivan teamed up for their biggest global hit yet, while 5SOS added some Julia Michaels to their album track Lie to Me to make it the Youngblood album's fourth single. They have two more songs to come, and Julia has one. Kygo and Rita Ora came together for Carry On, the soundtrack single for Detective Pikachu and a slow burner in my chart, preceding a bigger hit for both artists, while BTS enlisted Charli XCX for Dream Glow, a single from their own BTS WORLD soundtrack. One of the biggest comebacks of the year, the Jonas Brothers scored their first top 10 hit with Sucker in the UK as well as my own chart, sharing a #4 peak in both. It remains their best performing song, with no others thus far having followed its lead into the top 10! Elsewhere, Sabrina Carpenter's promotional track Paris saw a resurgence at the start of 2019, pushing it into the top 10 for the first time. Conan Gray's first top 10 hit The King is just one spot above, though it's sadly omitted from his debut album Kid Krow. Boy In Space's second highest song is 7UP, indeed named after the soft drink, at #112, while jens' top track is Lottery at #11. 101 Ruel - Real Thing | 29-x-5-10-16-25-36-x 102 Frans - One Floor Down | 2-6-11-16-28-x 103 Carrie Underwood - Southbound | 14-7-12-17-27-32-36-x 104 PRETTYMUCH & CNCO - Me Necesita | 20-5-11-18-23-34-x 105 End of the World feat. Greyson Chance's white roses is just above, the third single from portraits and a highlight of his tour for sure. Also benefiting from a live tour is Carrie Underwood's Southbound, the third single from Cry Pretty and possibly my favourite of them all - it's more typical country than Cry Pretty or Love Wins but so catchy! Former Eurovision star Frans is at the top end of the section with One Floor Down, just behind Ruel's Real Thing at unlucky #101. Lauv and Anne-Marie's fuck, i'm lonely gave the former his highest charting single, and is the highest track for both artists this year (though of course, it's been a quieter year for the latter!). Cheat Codes scored another top 5 hit, enlisting Sofía Reyes for her second top 10 of 2019 and Willy William for his second ever. Sofía's other hit is still to come! Other collaborations here see Clean Bandit helping out End of the World with their first international release Lost, which scored them their first top 10 after several weeks of yo-yoing over the summer. There's also boyband mania with PRETTYMUCH and CNCO joining forces for a slice of Spanglish with the infectious Me Necesita - the best performer for both bands this year.

January 14, 20205 yr Author 2019: Top 10 Artists 10 Taylor Swift Kicking off my top 10 artists of 2019 is one of my all-time favourite artists. Taylor Swift rarely puts a foot wrong, so the fact she dropped a new album this year meant she was pretty certain to show up in this countdown! Lover certainly didn't disappoint, either. In fact, I'd say it's stronger than reputation, which puts it in third place for my favourite Taylor albums, trailing Speak Now and 1989. I still really liked reputation, don't get me wrong, but Lover seemed to be the progression thematically from 1989 that we needed, dropping the "woman scorned" attitude (which I did highkey love tbf). Lover contains some potential career bests - notably the title track, and I actually really like both singles too despite the lukewarm reactions. I'm hoping she does a proper tour for it, because the reputation Stadium Tour was one of my favourite moments of 2018 and I'd LOVE to do it all over again! 9 Spice Girls So this is where you realise my requirements for the artists countdown are quite loose - it covers new singles, albums, videos, etc but it also covers tours, and the Spice Girls delivered one of my favourite concerts of 2019. Though I'm a little too young to have grown up with the Spice Girls, I've still come to really love their music over time, and it all came to a head when I saw Geri, Emma, Mel B and Melanie C reunite for one massive celebration. The atmosphere in Cardiff's Principality Stadium was electric, and I was thrilled to be able to attend it with our very own Jay! I don't think I've recovered from the live version of Holler either. It was an experience to remember, and it's only made me love their music more. I've also delved into their solo music and found a huge love for Melanie C's music, which I knew very little of beforehand! All in all, it's been a very Spicy 2019 and I've got absolutely no regrets. 8 froy Quadrupling his total output this year, Froy Gutierrez released three singles, though annoyingly he removed debut single sideswipe from all platforms. Still not forgiven him for that. However, what came afterwards was Fix Me - his emotional track about mental health. I'll talk more about that and each of the songs later in the countdown because all of them deserve their moment in the limelight, but after a few false starts, it really felt like Froy had started to realise who he was as an artist and where he slotted into the market. The music scene has quietened again for Froy but I'm hopeful we'll have new music over 2020 as well because he's not put a foot wrong yet, and I'm really craving a longer project - an EP at least but ideally an album! 7 Why Don't We Why Don't We absolutely dominated my 2018, finishing at #1 in the songs, albums and artists charts extemely impressively. It's not a repeat occurrence this year but they nevertheless finish top 10 for a second year. Though Corbyn, Jonah, Daniel, Zach and Jack didn't release an album last year, they released twelve tracks over 2019, one every month, resulting in eleven unique new singles plus an acoustic version of What Am I. All of them have been pretty good at least, but most of them have been really excellent. In terms of my personal chart, seven of them reached #1 (though it's worth noting final release Chills charted in 2020), giving the boyband six #1s in a calendar year - breaking a record that they tied in 2018 with four #1s! They now sit at a total of eleven #1s, which ties them in second place with One Direction and Rita Ora for overall #1s, trailing only The Vamps' thirteen chart-toppers. I also went to see Why Don't We in concert twice in 2019, just eight days apart, at both of their sold out shows at London's Eventim Apollo. I met them again on the second night - photographic evidence here! 6 Rita Ora 2019 saw Rita continue her Phoenix album promotion, with Only Want You getting the single treatment alongside a 6LACK remix. Though the remix didn't necessarily improve (or worsen) the track, and it didn't make it a hit, it did boost the track back to #1 in my chart! Rita also scored her eleventh #1 with Sofía Reyes collaboration R.I.P. just a week after, tying her in second place for most #1s. Rita also saw hit collaborations with Kygo, and Tiësto and Jonas Blue, both of which made my chart's top 10. What really helped Rita in this countdown though was her Phoenix tour, which I attended at the O2 Arena. She put in the most incredible performance, proving the immense star quality she has and delivering one of my absolute favourite concerts. I also met her as part of the meet-and-greet package, which I truly loved!! I saw her again at the Summertime Ball in June and the Jingle Bell Ball in December, and she's still yet to put a foot wrong live. I cannot wait for the new Rita material that 2020 is set to bring us!
January 15, 20205 yr Author 2019: Top 300 Songs 91 Zara Larsson - WOW | 3-6-13-27-36-x 92 Why Don't We - Mad At You | 2-5-10-14-25-29-34-x 93 Dua Lipa - Don't Start Now | 4-6-9-16-18-23-35-x 94 Ally Brooke feat. Louisa - Here We Go Again | 8-12-16-25-32-x 97 ASHS - A Million Voices | 15-1-5-4-17-27-34-x 98 Sigala, HRVY & Nina Nesbitt - Somebody | 8-9-11-16-23-33-x 99 Greyson Chance - seasons nineteen | 30-24-19-27-38-39-x-18-x 100 Joel Adams - Slipping Off the Edge | 3-7-20-31-x Time for the top 100 to begin! Joel Adams' highest track this year actually doesn't slip off the edge and manages to cling onto the top 100. It became his highest peaking track since #2 promotional track Die for You in early 2017. Greyson Chance appears again at #99 with album track seasons nineteen, his first of six songs in the top 100 - more than any other artist. Just one spot above is another non-single, from Sigala's Brighter Days album. He enlisted HRVY and Nina Nesbitt for Somebody, a track that hugely clicked with me after seeing HRVY perform it live on tour! It's the highest track for Nina, the only track for Sigala and the second highest for HRVY. Two #1s drop out here - Alyssa Reid returned to music under new alias ASHS, and A Million Voices provided her with her first #1 since 2013's Satisfaction Guaranteed. At #94, former Fifth Harmony member Ally Brooke scored the first 5H solo #1, beating Camila Cabello to the title (though Camila finally scored a solo #1 just months later). Low Key, which was also the first #1 for Tyga, broke the record for biggest drop from #1, tumbling straight down to #9 in week 2. That record has technically been broken since - with Mariah Carey diving 1-x after Christmas finished! Surprisingly, Sigma achieved their very best chart position with Louisa collaboration Here We Go Again, outdoing Rita Ora collaboration Coming Home by one spot. Why Don't We feature twice - firstly with Macklemore collaboration I Don't Belong in This Club (Macklemore's biggest hit), and secondly with Mad At You, their third and tenth releases of the year respectively. Dua Lipa's comeback smash Don't Start Now is at #93, and Zara Larsson's biggest hit of 2019 for me is WOW at #91, despite only being a promotional single. 81 Lewis Capaldi - Someone You Loved | 23-32-x-39-20-17-9-7-10-13-18-24-36-x 82 Céline Dion - Lying Down | 33-5-7-11-22-31-x 83 Greyson Chance - timekeeper | 37-17-13-10-15-24-28-39-x-21-x 84 Jordan Clarke - Freaks | 4-10-15-24-39-x 85 Oscar Enestad - Vi Var Som Inga Andra | 3-8-15-29-39-x 86 Martin Garrix & Dean Lewis - Used To Love | 6-9-12-24-30-38-x 87 Gryffin feat. Ivy Adara - Bye Bye | 2-5-11-21-26-34-x 88 Katy Perry - Harleys In Hawaii | 3-14-20-29-40-x 89 Jonas Blue & HRVY - Younger | 3-7-11-14-21-37-x 90 5 Seconds of Summer - Easier | 3-11-11-16-19-22-28-34-x 5 Seconds of Summer's Easier added yet another top 10 hit to their impressive record, and became their third of four tracks to feature in the top 10 during 2019. It fell 3-11 in a busy second week but held up very well afterwards! Jonas Blue finally teamed up with HRVY for a single after the he joined him at numerous gigs to perform Mama and Rise, but sadly Younger failed to replicate the massive smash hits that came before due to a lack of support. Jonas Blue has one more song to come but HRVY has no more now! Katy Perry's promotional single Harleys In Hawaii is her third highest song at #88, just one spot below Gryffin's Bye Bye at #87 - his highest charting track to date. Dean Lewis also scored a new personal best with first top 10 hit Used to Love, which also saw Martin Garrix return to the top 10 for the first time in over two years. Oscar Enestad shows up as a solo artist for his first appearance of three, and it's the most recent track - Vi Var Som Inga Andra - that's first to drop at #85. The UK's Eurovision potential Freaks was performed by two artists, but Jordan Clarke performed undoubtedly the better version for me. The anthemic chorus gave the song a lot of replay value for me, finishing higher than every actual Eurovision entry this year. Greyson Chance's promotional track timekeeper is at #83, and Céline Dion's tringle produced her second top 10 hit in the form of David Guetta and Sia-penned Lying Down, a beautiful track with one of her best vocal performances to date. Finally, the biggest hit of the year in the UK ends at #81 here - Lewis Capaldi's Someone You Loved had a very strong chart run, remaining Lewis' highest charting single despite not going top 5!
January 16, 20205 yr Omg hi again x Fantastic to see that the Spice Girls are one of your Top 10 artists of the year  Seeing them with you in Cardiff will always be a special memory! Holler really did send our wigs flying out of that stadium. *.* I'm So Tired... deserved more love  Also I'm surprised that Duck, I'm Lonely (quack) was quite a fleeting hit for you :o My favourite song in your Top 100 so far is Don't Start Now  Lovely to see Lying Down rather high up, such a powerful offering from Celine! Harleys smashing for you despite not being a single, we have to stan x

Cash Cash - Can We Pretend | 7-5-11-13-21-30-x 80 FELIX SANDMAN - MIDDLE OF NOWHERE | 19-35-8-7-12-23-39-x A slow-burning hit, Felix Sandman's MIDDLE OF NOWHERE took a few weeks to get going, but ultimately became his longest-running single since his debut release EVERY SINGLE DAY. It bookends this section with another slow-burner, with New Hope Club's Know Me Too Well taking a couple of weeks to even enter my top 40, let alone reach its eventual peak of #7 - only their second top 10 hit, and their best EOY position to date! Featured artist Danna Paola is one of a few new artists in this section, too. Andreas Wijk scored a breakthrough with NuMb, becoming his first and so far only top 3 hit at the very start of 2019, while Bishara's On My Own finished runner-up in both Melodifestivalen and my chart. P!nk's Can We Pretend didn't set the chart alight, but it became her highest charting single in my chart since 2017's What About Us, a #1 single. It's also her best EOY position since then, and Cash Cash's best performing single ever. Katy Perry helped boost Daddy Yankee and Snow's Latin hit Con Calma into a hit in my own chart, peaking at #4 and interestingly being Katy's second highest track of the year! Charli XCX enlisted Lizzo for the finished, radio-ready version of Track 10, renamed Blame It On Your Love, which features as the highest result for both artists this year. James Bay also scores his biggest hit in years with Peer Pressure, written by and featuring backing vocals from Julia Michaels. Two pop group members finish this section - Girls Aloud's Cheryl only released one single in 2019, with Let You finishing at #5 behind four huge new entries, all four of which are still to come too. It's a very underrated track in my opinion, should have been a hit! :( Finally, Steps' Claire Richards scored her first top 10 hit with promotional track These Wings, a massive highlight when I listened to her debut solo album. Her vocals are stunning and the track is one I still revisit often now. 61 Steffan Argus - Make Me Cry | 6-2-2-12-18-26-34-x 62 Mark Ronson feat. Idris Elba - Boasty | 18-6-8-9-11-11-17-20-27-x One of the most iconic hits of the year, Wiley's remix of Boasty with Stefflon Don, Sean Paul and Idris ACTUAL Elba :jameela: stalled at the frustrating position of #11 for two weeks in the UK. In my chart, it also spent two weeks at #11, but only after a strong three weeks in my top 10. It's Wiley's biggest hit to date, and the only appearance of all four artists in this year's EOY. Also in collaboration news, Seeb teamed up with Olivia O'Brien (from gnash's i hate u, i love u) and Space Primates for Fade Out, one of my BJSC entries of 2019 and only my fourth top 10 hit in seven years (on/off for the previous couple) of participating. It became the biggest hit for all three artists, peaking at #3! Alok and Felix Jaehn enlisted The Vamps for All the Lies, one of their best dance collaborations for sure, and their best performing track this year. Another #1 drops in the form of Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey's Charlie's Angels soundtrack song - it dropped out quite quickly in the end but I maintain that it deserved a vastly better chart run in global charts. On the cusp of breaking out, Conan Gray's Maniac became his first top 5 hit in my chart, and it's actually only just re-entered. Conan's set for a big year with his debut album coming out soon, and hopefully Maniac stands a chance of becoming a chart hit. Sadly, Fleur East's Favourite Thing never had any hope of that, which is a shame as it's a superb pop anthem and exactly what I wanted to hear from her after I'm a Celebrity! Matteo Markus Bok's Sayonara Arigatò isn't a single, but it still managed to peak at an impressive #3 when his album Cruisin' came out, while Steffan Argus' Make Me Cry nabbed two weeks at #2, both behind Harry Styles' Lights Up. The track is a few years old now, and Steffan, now going by the nickname Fin, is primarily known for his acting. Mark Ronson's only appearance in my 2019 EOY is with Camila Cabello collaboration Find U Again. The track is undoubtedly one of the most slick hits of the year, both in terms of production and vocals - they worked amazingly well as a team! Finally, one of the first hits of 2019, Call Me Loop and Lisa Ajax provided vocals for Davai's intriguingly titled Cry Like Kim K. The track is an infectious bop, and one that deserved a hell of a lot more attention! It was Davai and Call Me Loop's first hit, and Lisa Ajax's best performer yet. One more section of 20 before we go 2 at a time for the top 40!
January 16, 20205 yr Wasn't expecting to find Goodbyes and Hate Me in here but they were two big faves for me this year! All Day and Night and Carry On are both great too, I also liked Used To Love and Con Calma (although I preferred it without Katy), and Someone You Loved was such a deserving smash in the charts! I still remember when you correctly predicted in the chart thread in its first top 40 week that it would eventually make it to #1, a much better moment for you to remember than Phoenix  Though I'm a little too young to have grown up with the Spice Girls, I've still come to really love their music over time, and it all came to a head when I saw Geri, Emma, Mel B and Melanie C reunite for one massive celebration. The atmosphere in Cardiff's Principality Stadium was electric, and I was thrilled to be able to attend it with our very own Jay! I don't think I've recovered from the live version of Holler either. It was an experience to remember, and it's only made me love their music more. I was at the Cardiff show too, the atmosphere really was unlike anything I'd seen before!

Don't forget I mod the Ellie AF! :kink: (that said, River is not here lol x) I'm claiming bragging rights on Someone You Loved forever, I knew it'd be a #1 smash the second I heard it  Had no idea you were at the Cardiff show!! Glad you enjoyed, it really was so damn good
January 17, 20205 yr Author 2019: Top 300 Songs 51 Mabel - Mad Love | 8-10-11-18-18-14-3-6-11-19-26-34-38-x 52 Taylor Swift - You Need to Calm Down | 2-7-11-14-22-27-34-x 53 AJ Mitchell - Say It Again | 2-4-8-11-17-33-x 54 Tiësto, Jonas Blue & Rita Ora - Ritual | 4-6-7-10-15-16-23-29-36-x 55 Hunter Hayes - Wild Blue | 3-6-11-16-24-29-31-38-x 56 Lil Xan - Baby You Love Me | 1-4-8-17-22-29-40-x 57 Ashley Tisdale - Symptoms | 14-6-12-11-17-13-13-18-26-33-40-x 58 Christopher - My Heart | 7-11-14-21-32-40-x 59 Lil Xan - Watch Me Fall | 10-1-4-10-18-21-36-x 60 Ellie Goulding - Sixteen | 2-8-14-19-26-32-38-x Ellie Goulding's highest charting hit EVER in my chart, Sixteen drops out at #60 here, nowhere near its namesake sadly. Ellie continued to solidify herself as the most notable artist in my chart to have not achieved a #1 single yet, and Sixteen got very unlucky against BTS' Boy With Luv, which is still to come so at least we can comfortably say it was the right choice. Some actual #1s do drop out in this section though, and both are from Lil Xan. Watch Me Fall hit #1 at the start of the year and saw Diego taking on a Post Malone-esque sound and a more emotional vibe, while Baby You Love Me is the opposite - it's basically an early Justin Bieber song...! There's actually very little rapping in it, too. His 2019 has been VERY hit-and-miss in my chart, with only one other charting hit (Midnight In Prague at #26) and numerous tracks to miss out entirely, but nevertheless he doubled his #1 tally to four, behind only Iggy Azalea for rappers. After a few singles that missed my top 10, all it took was one song for Christopher to zoom back in and ensure his Under the Surface album has a top 10 to its name. My Heart is an emotional, downtempo track, and was helped by its excellent music video of a story told backwards, quite literally! Ashley Tisdale's Symptoms also has a very strong showing for a song that missed my top 5, and also only spent one week top 10 altogether! Symptoms had a lot of top 20 longevity and has easily become her biggest track to date. Hunter Hayes' Wild Blue is a notable return to form for him, giving him his highest charting track since 2015 #1 hit 21, getting unlucky to run into new entries from Isac Elliot's Waiting Game and Ava Max's Torn (both still to come). Tiësto teamed up with DJ Jonas Blue and queen of music Rita Ora for the fabulous Ritual, a sleeper hit in the UK that deserved a much better peak than #24! Taylor Swift also makes her first top 100 appearance of three in this section with You Need to Calm Down, and Mabel achieves her best EOY showing to date with Mad Love - definitely my favourite song of hers yet. Finally, AJ Mitchell's highest track is Say It Again, also his best performer in my chart, charting at unlucky #2 behind Greyson Chance's Boots (still to come). 41 Why Don't We - Big Plans | 9-1-2-3-12-17-25-38-x 42 Ed Sheeran feat. Camila Cabello & Cardi B - South of the Border | 3-9-15-25-39-x-4-11-8-15-19-24-31-x 43 Greyson Chance - Boots | 1-2-5-6-10-18-29-… 44 Taylor Swift feat. Shawn Mendes - Lover | 8-6-9-13-17-24-32-x-5-12-19-27-38-x 45 Rita Ora feat. 6LACK - Only Want You | 1-3-9-13-17-21-23-27-34-x-3-1-5-11-17-25-35-x 46 Taylor Swift feat. Brendon Urie - ME! | 1-2-4-10-12-19-23-30-34-37-x 47 Dominic Fike - 3 Nights | 1-4-10-18-26-27-30-34-37-x-33-x 48 Shawn Mendes - If I Can't Have You | 1-1-5-4-12-15-19-21-25-30-36-x 49 Ruel - Free Time | 8-6-4-7-14-16-26-32-38-x-11-23-31-x 50 Madison Beer feat. Offset - Hurts Like Hell | 7-9-12-20-29-34-32-22-14-5-11-21-23-38-x It's very rare that I'll allow songs into my EOY in more than one year, but Madison Beer's Hurts Like Hell felt like a special case. It featured at #125 in 2018's countdown, but since then, it's repeaked at #5 to become Madison's highest charting track (a position that has since been matched by All Day and Night) and showed longevity throughout the year, so I simply had to include it. It's one of a scarcer number of non-#1 hits in this section as we move closer and closer up the chart! Just above is Ruel's Free Time, an impressive chart success considering it wasn't actually a single from the EP of the same name. It outperformed two of the three singles, with the remaining track, Painkiller, still to come. Ed Sheeran's South of the Border provided one of his biggest hits to date (even before it was a single) with help from Camila Cabello and Cardi B. It's Ed and Cardi's highest song, but Camila has one more to come! After Taylor's first song of three in the top 100 appearing in the previous section, her second and third both fall out here. First out is #1 hit ME!, which divided opinion but I've always been a big fan of it! I love the joyous, carefree vibe it has, and "SPELLING IS FUN" is iconic, I don't even care :kink: Lover interestingly manages to be her highest track at #44 despite peaking the lowest of the three Lover singles. The Shawn Mendes remix boosted it to a #5 peak, one higher than it managed in its solo form, so I've given Shawn the credit as ultimately I think that's the version I'd opt to listen to right now! Shawn also appears at #48 on his own with #1 hit If I Can't Have You, interestingly the first song to spend multiple consecutive weeks at #1 in 2019! Shawn has one more song to come. The rest of the section is made up of #1 hits too! Rita Ora's Only Want You also featured in last year's countdown, at #51. I knew at this point that it was set to be the next single, and it had debuted at #1 in my chart on the Phoenix release week, but its single push didn't occur until 2019, when the 6LACK remix was released. The song returned to #1 before being dethroned by herself on R.I.P. (2.0). Both Rita and 6LACK have one more song left in each! Dominic Fike scored a debut #1 hit with 3 Nights before it took off as a UK hit, so watching it climb its way up the UK chart was satisfying. However, I'd say it's potentially the only #1 this year that didn't deserve its chart-topper status, because it held Bea Miller's it's not u it's me off the top in its sole week at #2 - that track is still to come and was notably bigger! :( Greyson Chance's most recent track Boots is at #43. It's serving as the lead single from his forthcoming third studio album and marks a notably more upbeat sound from him after the more sombre portraits era! Finally, the first of Why Don't We's monthly releases in 2019, Big Plans just misses the top 40. It had a swift departure from the chart - unfairly so looking back! - but it's held up well for me and still sounds fresh now!
January 17, 20205 yr If I Can't Have You so low, tut tut xx Boots yasss *.* literally just come on shuffle, such a brilliant song! So hyped for the new era and hopefully the next album to land this year!!
