  • Out on cd and vinyl November 14th!

  • Just seen this and it’s sold out. 😢😭 It’s completely ruined my day I’m genuinely heartbroken as I’ve been so excited for it. Why the f*** is there a limited amount of copies?

  • Melt down adverted thanks to Jay pointing me in the direction of the vinyl, was just the card that was sold out 😮‍💨. I was having a bit of a fit then 🙈

Really hoping this see's the light of day! 😍

Me too and give it its individual release.

They could throw in some love versions to expand the track listing.

  • 2 months later...

We need the announcement of Christmas album (charts will be more wide open as christmas is mainly focused to singles)

Yay, ordered a vinyl *.*

apparently the first 500 orders come with a Christmas card so got in there as soon as I found out after sticker-gate with the Chemistry reissue lol

I ordered the CD, thankfully secured the Christmas card! lol

Official store says there’s 83 left at the moment.

Just seen this and it’s sold out. 😢😭

Kimberley recalls: "Just as we were adding the finishing touches to what would become our Chemistry album, our producer Brian Higgins had a wildcard last minute idea.

"As the album had been scheduled for a December release, how about we record some bonus Christmas tracks? Our record label loved the idea but went one step further and suggested we record a whole Christmas album which could be packaged with the main album as a strictly limited edition deluxe format."

Nicola adds: "We decided to record 4 classic Christmas covers - and the Xenomania team were going to write 4 brand-new original Girls Aloud Christmas songs. There was only one issue – time.

"We had one week for the remaining new songs to be written and to record everything. Everyone went into festive overdrive. While we were recording the Christmas covers in the Xenomania studio (we picked Jingle Bell Rock because it was in the movie Mean Girls), Miranda Cooper and Lisa Cowling spent a weekend in Devon writing lyrics to the four brand new Christmas songs."

Cheryl says: "The new songs were all highly kitsch and sometimes ridiculous.

"The album was always meant to be called Christmas ‘Round At Ours – that’s why the Christmas TV advert was themed ‘At home with Girls Aloud," but it was decided it was too confusing to give it a name of its own, as it would only ever be available as part of the Chemistry album. Until now, that is."

Nadine remembers: "The day we photographed the front sleeve was the same day we were photographed for the main Chemistry sleeve. When we walked into the photo studio it was like walking on to a film set – the kitchen scene you see on the front of the album was a set build and it looked so impressive, like something from a 1950s Hollywood movie.

"If you’d told us then that many years later the chosen image from the day would be celebrated by the National Portrait Gallery (which it did in Christmas 2023) we’d never have believed you!"

This is described as being an album on the official store, and it's classified that way on Spotify too. Does it technically make it their sixth album? It will be interesting to see how this release will be added to their Wikipedia (which hasn't happened yet). It should get its own chart position, and now has its own separate title / physical+digital release, so... hmm!

The album has a release date of 22 November 2024 on Spotify - was this when it was originally meant to be released?

It would be nice if this was the year 'Not Santa Tonight' finally charted! Would need some decent showing on the Christmas playlists. A CD/vinyl single would be nice as well but I guess they want to focus on selling the album.

The party mix is ok but I think loses the charm of the original.

Ooh I see we're getting a video for 'Not Santa Tonight'!

Available from today on digital platforms, the album's launched with focus track Not Tonight Santa and its previously unreleased Christmas Party Mix, to be accompanied by a video featuring unseen footage of all five of the girls from the Girls Aloud Christmas archive.

Oooh a video! Wouldn’t it be amazing if the girls did a promo round for this and really gave it a good chance of charting nicely!? They really should do everything they can to push a Christmas song into a classic!

Someone told us on reddit that there are around 30 cards left for the bonus Christmas Card freebie. Have they sold out already?
