December 31, 20195 yr Author Midnight's sample was a mystery to me too until I looked on it's wiki page! :o It is still a really interesting change of pace for them, I'd definitely rank it amongst their best (that whole Ghost Stories era was excellent for singles even if I didn't like the album as much). Love Run Boy Run as well  I still feel slightly cheated by not knowing it was a huge sample - not sure why! Ghost Stories was the best Coldplay album of the last decade - I don’t rate their albums as a whole that highly since X&Y.

December 31, 20195 yr Author YQHsXMglC9A 10. Adele – Hello Chart peak: 1 (4 n-c weeks) Year: 2015 What a comeback! From the little teaser in a X factor ad break to its dominance worldwide, this was everywhere when I went to New York and takes me right back to a crisp cold Big Apple instantly.
December 31, 20195 yr Author 93ASUImTedo 9. Disclosure feat. Sam Smith – Latch Chart peak: 3 Year: 2012 The debut hit on my chart for both Disclosure and Sam Smith, this really should've been a number 1 for me - though what a grower! This isn't the only Sam Smith track in my top 10, they went on to bigger and better things. Though I much prefer their dance collaborations to the ballads.
December 31, 20195 yr Author FHCYHldJi_g 8. Duke Dumont feat. Jax Jones – I Got U Chart peak: 1 (1 week) Year: 2014 The follow up to the excellent 'I Need U (100%)' this summery Whitney sampled track far outpaced its predecessor. By far the best song from the Duke and was a welcome introduction to Jax Jones.
December 31, 20195 yr Author btBSxtKzF6Q 7. Röyksopp & Robyn – Do It Again Chart peak: 1 (2 weeks) Year: 2014 This was so instant for me. A perfect blend of both Röyksopp & Robyn - the song really gets going after the bridge at 03:54 and the production goes through the roof!
December 31, 20195 yr Author blJKoXWlqJk 6. The xx – On Hold Chart peak: 1 (7 weeks) Year: 2016 Another instant classic for me - and I love the inclusivity in the video. Plus Oliver - phowarr!
December 31, 20195 yr Author JRfuAukYTKg 5. David Guetta feat. Sia – Titanium Chart peak: 1 (2 weeks) Year: 2011 Am I glad that Guetta kept Sia as the vocalist for this, his best ever song. For the second decade in a row, my decade end top 5 has a Sia feature :D
December 31, 20195 yr Author XkeIwhKIi84 4. Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams - Get Lucky Chart peak: 1 (6 weeks) Year: 2013 A dream mix of the ever excellent Daft Punk, Pharrell Williams and funky disco from Nile Rodgers. Quite rightly one of the biggest hits of the 2010s.
December 31, 20195 yr Author 3O1_3zBUKM8 3. Naughty Boy feat. Sam Smith – La La La Chart peak: 1 (2 weeks) Year: 2013 What an utter tune! By far the best Sam Smith feature. I originally thought the video was a South American version of the Wizard of Oz (Tin man, Scarecrow and Lion), but this is apparently the real meaning: For those who do not know what this is all about. The video is based on an old Bolivian legend. In the legend, a little deaf child had the power to know the problems of others, and could cure her voice. She left her abusive home and found a stray dog to keep him company. As he lived in the street, he met an old man who cried and stoned by others in the village. The child uses his power to heal the heart of man, and continue traveling together. Then they meet a man who is disfigured and rejected by society. The child uses his voice again and find that man is really a prophet who was cursed by the devil, the statue that is the end of the video. Anyone who can hear El Diablo immediately falls under its control. Only that can be found beyond the desert, so the group travels to see it. They find the cave where the devil lives, but the two men and the dog can not enter. If they do, will fall under control The Devil. So the child is alone. Because he is deaf, can not hear the devil. He stayed in that cave, and uses his voice to drown the devil, so no one would get hurt by him again.

Coldplay – Paradise Chart peak: 1 (10 n-c weeks) Year: 2011 This was so close to being my song of the decade, and is my favourite Coldplay song by quite a margin. Plus, I love the elephant costumed video. Also, this is the longest running number 1 on my chart ever!
December 31, 20195 yr Author TP9luRtEqjc 1. Jamie xx feat. Romy – Loud Places Chart peak: 1 (6 weeks) Year: 2015 This reminds me of sitting in Berlin's Unter Den Linden having a chilled out coffee. Wonderful music for wonderful memories. Jamie and Romy's voices go so well, they should so form a band or something :P A worthy winner for the decade! Recap 10-1: 1 Jamie xx feat. Romy – Loud Places 2 Coldplay – Paradise 3 Naughty Boy feat. Sam Smith – La La La 4 Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams - Get Lucky 5 David Guetta feat. January 4, 20205 yr Good to see 'Midnight' in the top 20. I'd started to tire of Coldplay but that was such a great change of direction. I'd probably rank it in my top 5 songs of theirs now. Your top 7 are all varying levels of fab. A great number pair of number ones, the album is stunning and 'Loud Places' is definitely my favourite thing on it.
