Golden Brown and Tubthumping out already?! This is already looking weird.

The Stranglers released some brilliant singles. Tubthumpimg is great fun but I prefer this...

I was the sole voter for Sash’s best track Stay? Booo!

Maybe because Sash's best track is still only the 846th best number two hit :P

Hmmmmmmm :nocheer:

At least it finishes in the top 300 here by your contribution alone

Randy Crawford - One Day I'll Fly Away

Def Leppard - When Love And Hate Collide

The Glitter Band - Goodbye My Love

Bruno Mars - Locked Out Of Heaven

Rag'n'Bone Man - Human

Sidney Samson - Riverside

Taylor Swift - Shake It Off

Urban Cookie Collective - The Key The Secret

Kanye West featuring Jamie Foxx - Gold Digger

'One Day I'll Fly Away' from 1980 is Randy Crawford's biggest hit and was covered by Vaults for the 2016 John Lewis Christmas advert. Gary Glitter's backing band had a successful chart run of their own with six top ten singles from 1974 to 1976 including 'Goodbye My Love'.

Mariah Carey - We Belong Together

Michael Jackson - Give In To Me

Marillion - Kayleigh

Outkast - Ms Jackson

Steps - Better Best Forgotten

2 Hearts by Kylie Minogue was given 18 points by Auld Lang Peen but only reached no.4.

Fish wrote the lyrics to this song after splitting up with a woman called Kay-Lee to concentrate on touring with Marillion. The name Kayleigh as it's spelt didn't exist before 1985 but as a result of this single being so popular, it eventually became one of the top 30 names given to newly born girls. Although it's still Marillion's best known song, most of their fans are unlikely to put it in their top 50 songs by the band and I only gave it three points.

Paula Abdul and The Wild Pair - Opposites Attract

Altered Images - Happy Birthday

Sarah Brightman & Andrea Bocelli - Time To Say Goodbye (Con Te Partiro)

Kelis - Trick Me

Kym Marsh - Cry

Queen - Somebody To Love

Slade - Far Far Away

S Club Juniors - One Step Closer

U2 and Green Day - The Saints Are Coming

I'm surprised that I'm the only person who gave points to 'Somebody To Love'. Elsewhere,we have the only top 5 hit for Altered Images and the first of three consecutive no.2 singles by S Club Juniors.

The B-52's - Love Shack

Dr. Alban - It's My Life

Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Welcome To The Pleasuredome

M - Pop Muzik

If I was basing my vote on the full 14 minute album version of this song,I would have given it 30 points but I only gave 20 points to this shorter, remixed single version. 'Easy Lover' by Phil Collins and Philip Bailey prevented Frankie Goes To Hollywood from becoming the first act to reach no.1 with their first four singles. We also have the excellent 'Pop Muzik' by M which reached no.1 in the US.

Have you included the 2 non eligible ones?

I thought the cutoff would be 24 points but it looks like it will be 25 now.

My total doesn't include 2 Hearts as I checked that one before starting the results but it does include It's Not Right But It's OK as I didn't notice it wasn't a no.2 until Tuesday.
Aww I miss S Club Juniors/S Club 8. One Step Closer is EPIC. :P
'Gold Digger' and 'Ms Jackson' not making it :( (was I the only voters for those? I forget how many points I gave them)

Toni Braxton - Unbreak My Heart

The Hollies - The Air That I Breathe

Just Jack - Starz In Their Eyes

The Supermen Lovers featuring Mani Hoffman - Starlight

S Club 7 - S Club Party

'The Air That I Breathe' is the Hollies' only top 5 single from the 70s. It was a cover of an Albert Hammond song from 1972. Hammond and his co-writer Mike Hazlewood successfully sued Radiohead in the 90s after claiming that their song 'Creep' bore some similarity to it. We also have Toni Braxton's 90s ballad and the Supermen Lovers' dance anthem.

Basshunter - All I Ever Wanted

Harold Faltermeyer - Axel F

4-4-2 - Come On England

The Kinks - Lola

Zara Larsson - I Would Like

Madonna - Beautiful Stranger

Alex Party - Don't Give Me Your Life

Britney Spears - I'm Not A Girl,Not Yet A Woman

Simply Red - If You Don't Know Me By Now

Sweet - Teenage Rampage

From 1970,a classic from The Kinks. The album version mentions Coca-Cola which had to be changed to cherry cola for the single version to avoid it being banned by the BBC. Also on 22 points are Harold Faltermeyer's theme from Beverly Hills Cop,4-4-2's song in support of England at the 2004 European Championships and Simply Red's cover of the 1972 song by Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes.
