let me check the rules... it says:

Over 25 minutes OR more than four songs where the format does not qualify as a “Maxi” single or remix single as defined by singles eligibility.

so cannot be remixes of 1 song... has to be 4 different songs minimum.

so the Lewis Ep should qualify... not sure about the Avicii one, which one do you mean? was it 6 different songs?

it also says minimum price of 3.75 for digital albums. But thats the dealer price not what the buyer pays.

I can't see how KSI would beat The 1975 - he may have stronger streaming but surely The 1975 have many more fans willing to actually buy the record? And they'd have good streams too.

Plus the 1975 have been on preorder for ages now!

Avicii had an EP titled 'Avīci (01)' (there were meant to be three but that never happened for sadly obvious reasons) - it had 6 tracks including Lonely Together but it wasn't chart eligible.

^on paper the Avicii EP looks elegible cos the rule says >4tracks OR >25min

maybe it was the price that was the issue...

The small print of the OCC's rules is purely for show, there's little point trying to work out their logic. We'll find out if the Lewis EP is chart eligible or not on Monday. x

Cool to see Jason Isbell so high up, would like to see him get a first top 10 album.

was kinda surprised to see Jason Isbell so high, I thought nobody knew him in the UK

His last 2 albums charted at #17 and #26 so he does have a little bit of a fanbase here!

He's basically the only country artist that I listen to (although I feel like his music at least recently is more rock than country), 'Be Afraid' off this new album is a great song.

The OCC will probably ignore any rules that might exclude it and allow it to chart to boost the album sales market

a friend was telling me yesterday that Jason Isbell is more popular now

cos he wrote some songs for the A Star is Born movie so more people know him now apparently

checking iTunes right now:

1 Now105

2 Now5

3 Jason Isbell

4 Charli XCX

5 Lewis Live EP

7 Asking Alexandria

9 Moby

is Lewis pushing on FB for his fans to grab the EP and get another #1?

Yungblud's 'the underrated youth' EP is just under 19 minutes (6 tracks), and that charted at #6 last year.

Not other than a post saying it's out now.

Cher’s Living Proof is #20 just now

Another #justicefor I assume? 'The Music's No Good Without You' is the original sad-disco jam.

Lewis kinda wasted a good title for his follow up album there

It's a lyric from Fade so I doubt he'd ever have considered naming album 2 after a lyric from a song from album 1 :kink:

Yes but it doesnt appear on the ep so it not within the rules of impossible he woudnt consider it

XTC had three consecutive albums named after a lyric from the previous one. They said the first two were accidental so they did another one on purpose.

Culture Club also had the lyric of "Kissing To Be Clever" (the name of their first album) in one of their singles from the 2nd album : Colour By Numbers : Miss Me Blind
KSI #1, above The 1975
