Interlagos will host the Sao Paolo GP in 2021 as its first of a 5 year contract with the sport. Sadly the circuit doesn't have the rights to call it the Brazilian GP. Annoying but better to have the circuit than the name

Yeah the official name is irrelevant and everyone will call it Brazilian GP regardless. Kinda like how everyone called it Imola this season.

Fantastic news anyway, always a calendar highlight.

Toto Wolff has signed on for another 3 years as mercedes team prinicipal. Daimler have also sold half of their stake in the team - with Daimler, Ineos and Toto now all holding a third of the team each.

Could be an interesting hint at how long Lewis' new contract might last.

Red Bull have confirmed Perez for next year as expected

Great stuff. Was thinking they would bottle it and stick with Albon. Now this is gonna be interesting next year. If he struggles then we can categorically conclude there's a recurring issue with that second seat.

Here's hoping he gets some more victories next season!

Whilst I don't think Perez will struggle too much, I'm not expecting him to give Max heaps of trouble, certainly not in qualifying, although his tyre management might come in to play in races.

It's worth remembering that whilst he did outperform Hulkenberg and Ocon, it wasn't as strongly as Ricciardo has been against the same two drivers, and however close Ricciardo was with Max he was never really on top of the Dutchman. And Max has upped his game since then too

Ah FFS was still clinging to the hope that they'd just get rid of him for a more deserving talent. Ah well, they're gonna get used to their name being dragged through the mud next season.

On the other side, I guess it's a bit of a novelty to have an F1 villain. I haven't personally disliked any driver since Maldonado and even he turned into a meme in the end.

As expected money talks. Mazepin is more of an entitled c**t than Stroll and his wasn’t sure that was possible

You may call him Sir, from now on: Lewis Hamilton has been knighted for services to Motorsports in the New Year Honours 2021: Overseas and International List (classified as overseas, due to him living in that lovely tax haven called Monaco).

Obviously, he has won the most races in F1, and I believe he's far from the best in the sport (I don't think I'd rate him any higher than Button - he's good, but the quality of his recent teammates is debatable, coupled with having the fastest car); he has (more importantly) spearheaded talks on diversity in F1, so I'd say it is very much deserved!

Apparently, in a great nod to history, Alpine‘s cars will be in France’s traditional blue next year.
