Very impressive! Only a modest increase for Little Mix and still under 2m which isn't great with Strictly following at such a high rating.

Bake Off has been smashing it on Channel 4 this year:

E1: 6.9m (32.0%) [Peak: 7.9m (36.0%]

E2: 6.7m (32.2%) [Peak: 7.6m (36.7%]

E3: 6.9m (34.0%)

E4: 6.8m (34.3%) [Peak: 7.6m]

E5: 6.9m

E6: 7.0m (33.0%) [Peak: 7.8m (35.0%]

The first episode consolidated to 11.21m across all devices, which the media are reporting to be the highest rating for Channel 4 since Woman of Substance hit 14m way back in 1985! :o (Four Weddings and a Funeral rated 12.4m in 1995 but I'm guessing they've excluded films).

BBC News special was watched by 14.2m, peaking with 16.3m, as Boris Johnson announced lockdown 2.0.

Strictly followed with 10.3m. That's up 1m on last week's debut (9.4m), which was itself one of Strictly's best audiences in two years.

The TV ratings in general are going to be high during lockdown 2, especially for I'm A Celebrity where I think all time records for that show could be broken.

7.4m for Bake Off - another series high!

Turns out this is the third highest rating for Bake Off on Channel 4! The 2017 final rated 7.7m and the 2018 final rated 7.5m - the finals usually see a big increase on the series averages so it'll be interesting to see how high this year's final will go.

Gogglebox also achieved its highest ever overnight rating last Friday, averaging 4.68m.

Bake Off is doing so well. It's perfect viewing for 2020 so I'm not surprised to see people flocking to watch it for some escapism. I really hope/think 8m could be in reach for the final!

The Repair Shop (BBC One) - 5.7m (29.2%)

Masterchef: The Professionals (BBC One) - 4.3m (24.5%)

The Chase (ITV) - 4.8m (33.4%)

Masterchef: The Professionals up over 1m from Tuesday - clearly damaged by going against Bake Off. It's also a good increase from its last series on BBC Two so clearly justified in the move to BBC One.

The Chase reached its highest ever overnight yesterday! Incredible rating for a teatime show.

Definitely! A lot of people started baking during the first lockdown so I guess that might have gained Bake Off some more viewers.

Incredible for The Chase! I knew it has long been the most popular teatime programme but still amazing to see it go from strength to strength. To think a lot of dramas struggle to get 4.8m in the overnights nowadays!

The Saturdays finally beating Little Mix
