Seeing as many dance producers have side projects that they venture into at one time or another in their careers, it seems like a good thread idea to rate some of your favourite from the industry. I was trying to make a list of as many noteworthy projects I could think of, but I’m sure I forgot to mention others, so please help me add them to the list and then with the Dance mod’s permission, we can have some kind of rate of these collaborations!

Here’s some I thought of when making this thread;

Swedish House Mafia (Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello)

Duck Sauce (Armand Van Helden, A-Trak)

Jack Ü (Diplo, Skrillex)

Silk City (Diplo, Mark Ronson)

Europa (Jax Jones, Martin Solveig)

Would anyone like to add any others? ^_^

Can't think of many more of these dance producer groups - Planet Perfecto was one though in the turn of the millenium trance era - they did the brilliant 'Not Over Yet' and 'Bullet in the Gun'.

Does Knife Party count? Given it's a collab between two members of Pendulum

Yes I am sure that would count. Would like to hear a new single from them actually, its been a while.

In addition to the three members of Swedish House Mafia, I forgot to mention;

Axwell Λ Ingrosso (Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso)

Supermode (Axwell, Steve Angello)

When thinking of other collaborative dance projects I thought of;

LSD (Diplo, Labrinth)

Gouryella (Ferry Costen, Tiësto)

Then there are other side projects that may not be collaborative but worth a mention too I thought;

CamelPhat (Ultrabeat)

Major Lazer (Diplo)

Jack Back (David Guetta)

Virtual Self (Porter Robinson)

Testpilot (Deadmau5)

Perhaps there are not as many mainstream collaborations that I thought there might be, but I’m sure others will come, and not all of them have a separate identity, it could be just two DJ’s working together like David Guetta & Martin Garrix for example.

Supermode (Steve Angello & Axwell). "Tell Me Why" is one of the best dance songs of the 2000s. Fight me.

Thanks cantthinkofaname, I didn’t see your post when I replied above, another great dance track of the 2000’s! :)

Calvin Harris x Alesso - Under Control

Easily my favourite DJ collaboration and my favourite song from each of those artists (although they do both have a stellar catalogue).

David Guetta x Martin Garrix - Like I Do

Major Lazer - Be Together

Two under appreciated dance songs that deserve wayyy more love

Lil' Love was a brief project for Alex Gaudino with another producer called Jerma. Had a one hit wonder with Little Love in 2005.

I remember it from the time, and I didn't know Gaudino was partly behind it until quite recently!

Also Pryda (Eric Prydz) too.

Yeah Little Love was a great project (they had 2 songs that I adore: Lil' Love and Jlo cover "wainting for tonight")

I think Axwell was involved in project called TV Rock but I am not sure 100%

While Axwell and Steve Angello had made only one collaborative track, Ingrosso and Angello had many under many aliases in their early days. Including Buy Now, Mood Hookers, General Moders, Outfunk and The Sinners.

...don't let me start with Aphex Twin aliases LOL

Also known as

AFX Blue Calx Bradley Strider Caustic Window The Dice Man GAK Q-Chastic Polygon Window Power-Pill Soit-P. P. The Tuss Phonic Boy on Dope

How could I forget - Galantis are of course linked to Miike Snow.

Style of Eye also has a history as a solo producer.

Has anyone worked out what Rain Radio is now. Is it definitely Fred again.. and Billen Ted? (and I don't need the track credits copying and pasting in here because they don't help :rofl:)

They do make sense

Yjneb Nosbig = Benjy Gibson backwards - a producer who's worked on a number of tracks for the likes of Ellie Goulding, Ed Sheeran and BTS

Furtado / Jenkins are credited for the original track.

Robbie Yates is the one that makes no sense but his a pseudonym for Fred Again apparently.

Tbh I imagine the use of Rain Radio is likely to allow different artists to come in and out on different tracks without releasing them as collabs - we'll see from their second single.
