Welcome to Battle of the Canadians - the first artist crossover event in the Shawn Mendes forum!

We've handpicked four of the biggest names in music, hailing from Canada like Shawn, to feature in a number of battle rounds to determine who the best of the lot is! Similar to Battle of the Boybands in the One Direction forum, there will be a series of polls where Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Avril Lavigne and Drake will battle for your affections. Only one artist can win each round, and an overall winner will be crowned at the end of the event based on how many polls they've won!

For Round Eight, the PENULTIMATE round, we're taking a look at some of the artists' most iconic music videos - from a dance movement to a shirtless gardener. Not only that, but we're making this a DOUBLE round - so we're also asking you to vote for your favourite cover that each of the artists has done in their time!

An incredible round for Avril sees her scoop up two more wins for both favourite music video and favourite cover - Girlfriend and Knockin' on Heaven's Door, respectively. For music videos, she's joint first place with Carly though, who picks up the same number of votes for Call Me Maybe. Hotline Bling was in third place with 2 votes, while Treat You Better and Sorry's music videos shared 2 votes between them in last place. Use Somebody managed to pick up 5 votes - easily Shawn's best, and most notable, cover. Don't Speak, Carly's rendition of No Doubt's song, managed to get 4 votes in third place, while Justin Bieber had one vote for his rendition of Fast Car. Feel No Ways, a song actually by Drake with Chance the Rapper covering, got no votes, but that shouldn't be a surprise lmao.
