Tiff and Keegans business is a real joke, i have always found it so unbelievable.

Along with the fact it's just an INCREDIBLY dull storyline

I was never a fan of the rush they had to marry Keegan and Tiff and I’ve never enjoyed them as a couple. Albie isn’t much better a name than Kayden for me. Jags and Habiba breaking lockdown feels completely in character for both of them. Suki owning the minute mart has absolutely bags of potential, I stan.
She’s been doing a lot of TikToks on her daughter’s account of classic clips so it is very much plausible
That’s a bit of a downer.

So we’ll never get to know Chantelle outside of the abuse storyline which is a shame. I guess this will make it differ from Trevor/Little Mo but will this also lead to Karen having even more children to raise?

That’s so annoying

Why’s the storyline got to end like this ? I don’t think it was necessary. Him getting caught or Chantelle finally being brave and telling everyone would have been a better conclusion!

In a way I think it's good they've done this. Often domestic violence or similar 'issue' storylines in soaps end with the perpetrator sent down and the victim making a full recovery (at worst, the abuse being forgotten within months) but it's important to highlight that every week, women will tragically die from domestic violence.

I’ve genuinely always thought it was heading in this way. I’ve said it a few times in this thread that I was thinking it would be (I believe) the first time it’s happened in a soap where a character has died from domestic violence. I think if any soap can pull it off it’s EE. It’s gonna be hard hitting and difficult to watch though.

I had a feeling it was heading that way, I think it is the "right" ending in a way and I think it's one that needs to be told, however it's a shame that it had to be done with a character that had so much potential to grow outside the story had they had a "traditional" ending with justice and her moving on.

I think like Coronation Street's Geoff and Yasmeen storyline, this will hit so much harder after lockdown knowing that there's really women who had to live like that through it all, and I'm presuming the former is going towards justice for Yasmeen (it looks to be heading that way) so it's important to show the other side. Differing storylines with different portrayals of abuse but I think both are important endings to stories that need to be told and in a way I'm glad but I'll be really sad to lose Chantelle who I feel is one of the best characters the show has at the moment.

I think part of why they’ve done it is because on the surface and to the eyes of a stranger, Gray is a good looking, successful man with a young family. I know it shouldn’t but because he’s charming and attractive it’s hard to picture him being an abuser.

, so them doing it with him shows that anyone can be an abuser regardless of looks / status etc.

Chantelle did have so much potential outside of this story though but I think Jessica will get other work as she hasn’t been in it long enough to be type cast to the character yet.. she may also want to re pursue her music career too.

However this will surely end with Gray facing jail! I think Lorraine Stanley who plays Karen is gonna be AMAZING throughout this story as well.

A while ago now Kate Oates done an interview and in that interview she said that when she joined EE she had an issue led story in mind with a story to tell that she was scared of doing. I just thought now that She must be referring to this especially with the article saying the story lines end was planned from the start. This is a link to the article its almost two years old now but it definitely sounds like this story.

I don’t know why I also always felt like it was heading this way though it was just a weird kind of gut feeling what stuck with me. I’m still in a state of shock it is genuinely heading that way as it will be groundbreaking and it’s definitely a realistic end but I’ll genuinely really miss the character of Chantelle who had so much potential!

Well done Dotty. A fantastic character. And now we get to hear Shazza scream and shout and let it all out saying get out Ian. She would be rocking with Max and Sharon bitch.
So... that is Ian's temporary exit from the show for the next 6 months due to his real life divorce.
