No. She couldn't. Her only other viable option was 'Alive'. She smashed the others but those 2 were her clear standouts and it was "performance of the series" theme. So SYL was a wise choice. She should record her version of it and release it. Her version is gorgeous.

I would be for this it is bu far the best female version I heard, and possibly even better than capaldi
