281-300

281. Alexandra Burke & Pitbull - All Night Long - an early decade BOP

282. Rihanna - California King Bed - a fab ballad from my fave RiRi album

283. Ana Mena - Entregame - album track bop

284. Cher Lloyd - Swagger Jagger - iconic

285. Mark Ronson & Miley Cyrus - Nothing Breaks Like A Heart

286. Nimmo - Dancing Makes Us Brave - listen to this if u don't know it

287. Katy Perry - Roar

288. Katy Perry - Unconditonally

289. Sugababes - Wear My Kiss - underrated bop

290. Tove Lo - Talking Body

291. Kelsea Ballerini - Roses - if the demo version was the released one + if this was the lead single, it'd probs be +100 places higher

292. Ward Thomas - Carry You Home

293. Kacey Musgraves - Slow Burn - easily her best ever song

294. Rachel Platten - Stand By You - should've been a 2 hit wonder

295. Ellie Goulding - Something In The Way You Move - should've been Delirium's lead

296. Jessie J, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj - Bang Bang - this would've been higher a few years ago

297. Sigma - Stay - the smash that got away

298. Gabrielle Aplin - Please Don't Say You Love Me

299. Taylor Swift - The Story Of Us - lol this probs would've been like top 20 in 2014

300. Taylor Swift - Daylight - ofc we'll start with my fave <3

- Final appearances for: Mark Ronson, Nimmo, Sugababes, Ward Thomas, Kacey Musgraves, Nicki Minaj, Gabrielle Aplin

#286 is definitely one of the best overlooked pop songs of the decade, it was in my top 1000 too though a few hundred places lower down

#285 would be my fave of that section anyhow and I don't usually like Miley.

^ Yeah I think 'Nothing Breaks Like A Heart' is my favourite so far too  other highlights include 'The Story Of Us' (underrated Taylor song, sounds quite Paramore-esque), 'Dancing Makes Us Brave' (glad you introduced me to them via BJSC with 'Dilute This' <3), 'Roar', 'Talking Body' and 'Wear My Kiss' (Heidi's iconic star jumps in the video *.* I was obsessed with this when it came out, hasn't aged brilliantly but still a guilty pleasure)
Stand By You was SO much better than Fight Song for me, actually completely changed my opinion of Rachel so a real shame that missed the Official Chart :( Nothing Breaks Like a Heart and Carry You Home are my other favourites so far!
Favourites so far being California King Bed, Nothing Breaks Like A Heart, Roar, All Night Long and Unconditionally.

Yasss glad it made it at least, it's so good <3 I'm surprised just how much I've gone back to it over the past couple years tho, in my EOY chart it was like 90th haha so it's def held up well!

It's such a good song <3 ngl I much prefer Miley's output last decade than this decade oops, she only has one more entry here and that's coming up in the next section oops x

Omg I was so obsessed with Wear My Kiss when it came out, 9 year old me bopped to it 24/7. One of the last CD singles I bought </3 I don't rly go back to it much nowadays also but yeah it's def a guilty pleasure *.* and Queen Heidi *.*

I prefer Fight Song by a lot haha, that'll be popping up here much later!! Stand By You deserved so much better tho so I'm with you on that :( That entire album deserved so much more, one of my faves this decade

(some format switch-ups and I've included my EOY positions from my charts from 2014 onwards, so you can see how songs have held up for me x)

261-280

261. Olly Murs - You Don't Know Love (EOY: 33)

262. WALK THE MOON - One Foot (EOY: 65 / 201)

263. Lauren Daigle - You Say (EOY: 77)

264. Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman (EOY: 43)

265. Charlene Soraia - Wherever You Will Go

266. Diana Vickers - My Wicked Heart

267. The Saturdays - Ego

268. Little Mix - Secret Love Song (EOY: 12)

269. Rihanna & Eminem - Love The Way You Lie Part 2

270. Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen - Good Time

271. David Guetta & Sia - She Wolf

272. Timbaland & Katy Perry - If We Ever Meet Again

273. Bebe Rexha - Meant To Be (EOY: 20)

274. Jessie J - Do It Like A Dude

275. Alexandra Stan - Mr Saxobeat

276. Kate Nash - Do Wah Do

277. Paloma Faith - Picking Up The Pieces

278. Liam Payne & Rita Ora - For You (EOY: 15)

279. GIRLI - Day Month Second (EOY: 37)

280. Miley Cyrus - Malibu (EOY: 14)

Let's have a quick commentary:

Of the older hits we have

- Charlene's gorgeous cover that stomps on the original

- Diana's iconic enunciation and def not a rip off of Under The Bridge. Once/The Boy Who Murdered Love used to be my Diana faves but MWH wins out at the end of the decade

- Saturdays banger Ego (which verges on just being in this decade) & more bangers in Good Time, Mr Saxobeat, Do Wah Do and She Wolf (the latter being better than titanium x)

- the superior part 2 of LTWYL, tho this would've been a lot higher a few years ago. I'm a bit bored of it nowadays

- another early 2010 hit with If We Ever Meet Again, acc aged so well and still a banger

- Jessie J's iconic breakthrough single that still pops off

- Picking Up The Pieces which never used to be a Paloma fave of mine but has wormed it's way up there, with some of her songs going the other way for me oops (Can't Rely On You only just missed my top 10 EOY in 2014 and it doesn't make my top 300 here is one example x)

- Final appearances for: Charlie Soraia, Diana Vickers, Owl City, Alexandra Stan, Kate Nash, David Guetta (:o), Eminem, Timbaland.

Of the newer hits:

- well if we're going by what we'd expect from EOY, we'd be looking at songs that finished around 27/28 to be here, and none are really close

- Of the ones that decreased we have: Little Mix's ballad Secret Love Song which I still love but just don't go back to that much anymore, the Queen of country crossover hit, For You which still bangs but kinda already got a bit tired of by the end of 2018 and Miley again with Malibu

Of the ones that improved we have

- Olly Murs delivering the best song of his career in ages with a song that deserved so much better in the charts

- GIRLI proving that I'm not just here for ironically (So you think... still f***ing slaps and low-key nearly made it here) with the fab break-up f***-you banger Day Month Second (Listen to it if you don't know it!!)

- Dangerous Woman solidifying itself as an Ari fave of mine

- One Foot is a banger of life and easily the best thing WTM did, this deserved to be a real life hit

- You Say is utterly gorgeous and still has a strong impression on me with me returning to it a lot in 2019, glad it was a big hit in America <3

- Final appearances for: Jason Derulo, Liam Payne, Miley Cyrus, Olly Murs, GIRLI, Walk The Moon, Lauren Daigle

One Foot, Do Wah Do and Wherever You Will Go *.* Is that not Charlene's final appearance? I've never heard another song of hers so I'm interested if she has another song here!

Major lol at Nicki having only one appearance at #296, poor flop

You Say is such a beautiful song  It would have been brilliant for it to get the exposure here that it did over in America. Mr Saxobeat is a fabulous pop-dance tune as well!

Giving Day Month Second a listen now, wasn't expecting an electro song! Quite enjoying it :D
