November 13, 20204 yr omg the whole last page is just Calum and Joseph!! I should have known! Is there another single planned before the album release? Thinking he might need another boost to support the album consider Wonder isn't smashing.
November 13, 20204 yr omg the whole last page is just Calum and Joseph!! I should have known! Is there another single planned before the album release? Thinking he might need another boost to support the album consider Wonder isn't smashing. The rumoured Justin collab is apparently coming next Friday (with an AMAs premiere performance on the 22nd), so yeah should be one more to lead into the album! *.*
November 13, 20204 yr So the track-list has been officially unveiled and it is: 1. Intro 2. Wonder 3. Higher 4. 24 Hours 5. Teach Me How to Love 6. Call My Friends 7. Dream 8. Song For No One 9. Monster (Shawn Mendes & ___________) 10. 305 11. Always Been You 12. Piece of You 13. Look Up at the Stars 14. Can't Imagine so 350 actually ended up being 305 - still intriguing nonetheless! and Monster *.* omg it's coming :cheeseblock:
November 14, 20204 yr  Glad the track list is finally revealed. Really looking forward to hearing!
November 17, 20204 yr Shawn has writing credits on every song :cheeseblock: (apart from Monster and Can't Imagine, but both of those currently don't have any credits thus far!)
November 17, 20204 yr So the interview with Zane Lowe about the album: hnu7KYoeK0w Shawn is honestly the purest person ever, I'm emotional  A few key things from the interview: According to Zane, Wonder is a MASSIVE leap forward compared to the self-titled album. A lot of the album spawned from reflection about life, the pandemic, the stillness of life, etc. Intro is a very reflective start. The most important part of it is the lyrics, and they're about Shawn himself. It leads into a very open-ended album. Having this as the intro of the album was a way of Shawn saying to himself 'just be you, tell your truth, believe every word'. It's the doorway to the whole album, getting 'lost in wonderland'. Camila's voice appears in the background on some of the songs on the album - Shawn 'stole' her and took her to the studio a few times to sing for parts of it. Song For No One has a REALLY interesting arrangement (drums, etc) according to Zane. Shawn said the song was written 3 years ago though (so before even the self-titled's release :o). Monster was also written 3 years ago. It touches on success and was written during a really tough time for Shawn when he was driven by ego, feeling that something wasn't quite right. It's a song that's always resonated with Shawn but it just never found its way out until now. The song is about how society can put celebrities on a pedestal and watch them fall like it's entertainment. It's a full-circle moment having Justin appear on the song, and to Shawn it's one of the most special songs he's ever written. It's steeped in the desire to be treated like a human being. One thing brought up on the album a lot is friendship and the impact of leaving home, Shawn's relationships with people, etc. There's a real element of fear on the album, particularly in the last song Can't Imagine which is FULL of fear (Zane's words). Lyric: "I can't imagine what a world would be without you" The final lyric of the whole album, on Can't Imagine, is "I'd be alone." Anderson Paak plays drums on Teach Me How to Love. Frank Dukes wrote Monster and Song For No One with Shawn, as well as Mustafa the Poet. The song that Shawn's most proud of on the album is Wonder. He wrote most of the album before finishing Wonder, and it all came together towards the end and lyrically it's just 'all there' for him. Honestly I am SO EXCITED for this album because I feel like it's going to be absolutely INCREDIBLE :cheeseblock: and hearing him speak about what Monster means, how it sounds, etc has me SO READY FOR FRIDAY omg
November 24, 20204 yr There are previews (well, peeks at recording sessions; don't know how far down the line it will have been) of some songs from the album on the In Wonder documentary including Dream, Teach Me How to Love, Higher and Always Been You... and honestly this album sounds like it is going to be I N C R E D I B L E
November 25, 20204 yr There's going to be a listening party of the album for Apple Music subscribers the night before the album comes out (well, a couple of hours before midnight xx) with Zane Lowe, with Shawn answering questions and obviously playing tracks from the album! Seems it's a US only event though  Still can't believe we're now only 9 days away from the album though, omg!
November 28, 20204 yr Bumping the album thread because it's getting a bit low down :heehee: Dream, Teach Me How to Love, Higher and Always Been You... and honestly this album sounds like it is going to be I N C R E D I B L E  Which clip did you like the most? :o Do you remember what the vibes of the tracks were? If I get around to watching tomorrow I'll find out myself of course :heehee:
November 28, 20204 yr Bumping the album thread because it's getting a bit low down :heehee: Which clip did you like the most? :o Do you remember what the vibes of the tracks were? If I get around to watching tomorrow I'll find out myself of course :heehee: From those clips alone, Dream and Always Been You sound the best I think! But they were literally about 10 second snippets, and in the recording studio, so the final products could be a lot different. Always Been You's chorus sounds quite dramatic, while Dream sounds like a proper ballad with him hitting A NOTE The vibe seems to be quite big choruses, with the same sort of production as Wonder. Hopefully you get round to watching tomorrow and seeing for yourself though, I feel those were terrible descriptions
November 29, 20204 yr 5 DAYS UNTIL WE HAVE THE ALBUM :cheeseblock: Honestly haven't been this excited for an album in ages!! Will have a few events up when the album's released - if you're around at midnight on Friday, first impressions thread that I have it on good authority Jay will be attending too, and we'll also organise a listening party for those that will listen a little later on over the weekend! ^_^
