If it's not eligible for the chart then unfortunately it wouldn't count towards the total!

I guess as we don’t know what a #1 vinyl needs to sell on Amazon at the moment it could have shifted 100 copies and with limited streaming and physical sales coming from elsewhere I guess it’s not too much of a shock it’s not appeared I just hoped with it being such a low price that it would have crept in.

I think it sold less than needed for a Top 200 placement as I don't think they would have sold 400 copies at this point, maybe that could be reached with a full week of sales.

I'd say the main point is to sell them (no matter how cheap) and get the stock shifted. I would imagine at this point that BMG isn't too concerned about whether the album can re-enter the UK chart or increase its total sales from 73k to 73.5k (this is just an example).

 

The stock appears to be located in Germany, sold via Amazon EU instead of Amazon UK. I'm not sure to what extent BMG can control that. Perhaps this is stock intended for European purchases, maybe they didn't sell too well, and they're wanting to try and get UK customers buying it.

If they can sell it helps bmg gain more financially which is essentially their priority.

I've noticed that Olivia Rodrigo has some physical sales for drivers license in the midweeks and that CD is also Amazon EU, so thankfully the Steps vinyl sales should be counting towards their UK total after all :cool: but unfortunately it's still not showing in the midweeks. At least we should be seeing it appear in the physical and vinyl charts.

I've just bought the vinyl for £4.02. I don't even have a vinyl player or collect vinyls but for that price I thought I would go for it. It's cheaper than a cake and drink from Costa so not too bad for a vinyl album :lol:

They’ve increased the prices, I guessed Amazon would only go so low and then increase them that’s why I grabbed it as soon as it went under £4.

It's been a great way for them to some of them moved.
