Posted February 27, 20205 yr If this is real *.* Only slightly worried that it won't be as funny as it once was though - the last time she resurrected the character I wasn't massive on it. :(
February 27, 20205 yr Yup, it's real I often watch Nan clips on Youtube. Genuinely hilarious so I hope the film does the character justice!
February 28, 20205 yr Catherine Tate's Nan was certainly iconic, I like the way she always started off as friendly then as the sketch continued she would get more shouty and sweary towards the end. I don't think it will work as an entire movie though.
February 29, 20205 yr I always liked Lauren, I wonder if there'll be any cameos  Honestly the skit of Lauren on Eastenders for Comic Relief (i think) arguing with Peggy will forever be saved in my memory
February 29, 20205 yr Please don’t be like the Mrs Brown’s Boys movie  From the little I have seen of Mrs Browns Boys, I certainly think its possible that that programme, particularly the character of Mrs Brown in it, might have been influenced by Catherine Tate's Nan.
March 1, 20205 yr Author From the little I have seen of Mrs Browns Boys, I certainly think its possible that that programme, particularly the character of Mrs Brown in it, might have been influenced by Catherine Tate's Nan. Mrs Brown (the character) actually pre-dates The Catherine Tate Show by quite a few years! It is, however, a far inferior version. The more I think about this, the more I wish she'd just do a massive movie of some of the most iconic characters from the show. Nan's never been my favourite, and while funny at times there are certainly a number of other characters I'd like to see more of.
March 1, 20205 yr Absolutely loved Nan. This thread inspired me to watch a few on YT last night. :heehee:
