So happy this is #1.

6 number ones is an amazing number for both artists. I hope there's still many more to come for Ari. It feels like such a brilliant number, especially as it felt like she might not get another after Bang Bang seeming that OLT & NTLTC could only reach #2.

I remember Rihanna having a #1 single every year from 2007 ('Umbrella') to 2013 ('The Monster') but not sure what the record is - could anyone shed light on that?

1956-1963 Elvis (8 year span)

1962-1969 The Beatles (8 year span)

2007-2013 Rihanna (7 year span)

1958-1963 Cliff Richard (6 year span)

1959-1963 The Shadows (5 year span)

1999-2003 Westlife (5 year span)

1993-1996 Take That (4 year span)

1995-1998 Oasis (4 year span)

1998-2001 Robbie Williams (4 year span)

2004-2007 McFly (4 year span)

2011-2014 Calvin Harris (4 year span)

2017-2020 Ed Sheeran (4 year span)

Thanks for this Liam! It seems entirely plausible that Ed Sheeran could advance to the 5 year list in 2021.

Wow at Rihanna being the only female with more than 3 consecutive years! No wonder her streak stood out so much in my mind. Ari to join her with 4+ next year!

This is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 :cheer: congrats to them both *.*

Ariana now has 4 #1s in the U.S. - she's doubled those in just the past few weeks  another debut there too :o

SO Happy for both of them, they just smashed a few records too other that is only being the 39th song in 62 years to debut at #1.

In regards to Ari it means she's the first artist in history to have 4 songs debut a #1 on Billboard. :cheer: :cheer:

Down to #2 this week! Still doing so well.

This is how many weeks each of Ari's #1s have spent at the top:

Problem (feat. Iggy Azalea) - 1 week

Bang Bang (with Jessie J & Nicki Minaj) - 1 week

thank u, next - 6 weeks

7 rings - 4 weeks (non-consecutive)

break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored - 1 week

Rain On Me (with Lady Gaga) - 1 week

It'll be interesting to see whether it can ever climb back up to #1 a few weeks down the line, of course it depends a lot on if we have any surprise big releases or not.
I don't think a second week at no.1 is a reach, surely not coming off those sales. It has to do 20k sales at least.

I don’t wanna speak too soon but Playlist support has been better for this coming chart week!

Apple and Spotify have moved this up some of their biggest playlists.

Hoping for another week top 3 in the UK!

I think that's guaranteed. If it climbs higher on Hot Hits UK, it could challenge Rockstar for no.1

Spends a fourth week in the top 2 - what a SMASH  has also been certified silver as discussed in the sales thread.

Ariana's top 3 hits in order of how many weeks they spent in the top 3, because why not:

thank u, next: 9 weeks

7 rings: 5 weeks

no tears left to cry: 5 weeks

Rain On Me: 4 weeks {so far}

Bang Bang: 3 weeks

break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored: 3 weeks

Problem: 3 weeks

One Last Time: 2 weeks

Don't Call Me Angel: 1 week
