I've accidentally given Thelonia's 18 to Aelandor instead of Adonia - oops! Changed.

 

So Republic of Adonia gets a Top 10 :o

 

For full transparency there was also a 1 point transposal between Ramrynia (who have gained a point) and Greenfroze (who lost one), also already now amended in the final scoreboard, though this did not affect the positions anyway x

 

The audit is now complete so the scoreboard is now correct B-)

Would just like to say it's getting a little irritating having Rich start out the contest predicting me top 5/10 only for me to just about slink into the top 20 - this is not how you manage expectations! That said, this month was just ultra competitive so I will take the non floppage and what looks like 2/2 in the "barely gets out of the semi finals" stakes this year.

Hurtsfall must be close to bottom on total number of votes. I'd hoped for better but think that was pretty much as expected, those it appealed to liked it a lot which is always good to see.

 

Congrats Hendinia, wasn't far off points and certainly enjoyed it more than most of those towards the top. Good to see Aly & AJ runner-up, didn't think that'd be something I gave so many points to when seeing the acts involved!

I voted for 5 of the top 6 so that was a very good result. Congatulations to Hendinia on winning the contest with what was a great song. Thanks to Lew for hosting.

Lmao at me actually turning out to be the country who wasn't supposed to qualify, I cursed myself by bringing up the possibility!! Well... let's just pretend the top 19 were always meant to qualify from both semis? :ph34r: (It does make me feel a bit better about having an undeserved place in the final that the 19th placed song from the other semi was also allowed in, perhaps this is the way forward for when things like this happen, especially being so close to the threshold of entries where the top 20 would have qualified anyway x). And finishing just one point off getting another unique position, drat xx still, grateful to have been granted a place in the final at all by a stroke of divine intervention I guess ~

 

An exciting fight it was! I must confess I did always like it but it wasn't until the second listen your song REALLY hit me, I was hoping it would do a bit better </3

 

It was a fun battle (even if as above it turns out you should have just won by default :kink:), will definitely make this unspectacular result for me a little more memorable! I was assuming all along that you'd probably beat me pretty easily just because of your song not being quite as minimalist as mine, but gah at the false hope of starting out quite far ahead of you but ultimately still finishing miles behind, this truly feels like an allegory of the fate of Bernie Sanders 2020 xx (and in this analogy I guess dandy*'s votes are James Clyburn ahead of South Carolina, thanks a lot for giving your endorsement to Terra Avium and irreversibly turning the tide against me :angry:)

 

I was kind of hoping that at least one of us would have done a bit better than we both did though - if the likes of Wim Mertens and Efisio Cross could go top 10, and the not entirely dissimilar Jean Michel-Blais could even win, it's a shame that neither of our entries (or, realistically, just yours) could have even gone top 15. Still, 16th isn't too awful, well done Biden x (Smith & Thell I suppose are Donald Trump in this increasingly stretch analogy x)

Anyways, as for the rest of the results, this top 10 actually ended up looking pretty nice, I voted for 7/10 and FARC was pretty good as well! (Hendinia and Altyr's songs were both in the bottom 5 of my ranking but they're obviously not for me ~) Really happy in particular to see Republic of Adonia getting one of their best results ever (and managing to not lose it to a deduction xo), getting the smash that KOTO should have been <3 and yay for Jadakissnia being top 10 again too so 2 of my 3 medallists are up there. It'd have been nice for USoJ to get a long awaited first win (as it were they get a 4th 2nd place which matches Ramrynia for the most without winning :drama:) but hard to feel too sorry for them when they were still over 100 points off! Then also great to see Lotunia grabbing a top 5 (didn't notice them getting so high but then again Susanne Sundfør came top 2 in spinoffs twice so not too surprising to see her also doing well in a main contest), and Scherzland's song was about as good as BJSC pure pop gets so very happy that made the top 10 too. Aeroche bringing a Persephonian alumnus a belated appearance in the top 10 too, huzzah! (this song isn't as good as 'Vehl' but it was still v good so I won't be too salty x)

 

22nd is a bit disappointing for TARO Bellamia, I was thinking that was a potential dark horse, but maybe my support of it actually wasn't a great sign considering I thought similarly about Lewis Blissett and he also didn't end up doing amazingly well. Would have liked Utopia, Séyetana and Skall to be higher too but I didn't really expect huge things for those. Really living for Utopia's song choices so far this year, this and 'Chacabuco' are far and away my 2 favourite discoveries between the 2 contests!

 

Thanks Leww for another wonderful hosting <3 and looking forward to finally getting to participate in a Hendinia hosted contest again :o (as the last one dates all the way back to the time when I barely cared about the contest and just randomised my votes half of the time :whistle:)

Oh well, at least I didn't come last :lol: Considering I really shouldn't have been in the final in the first place, 38th place and over 100 points is what I call a win.

Really enjoyed this month as a whole too. I actually had Goliath up even higher when I first started ordering, things were really tight in my votes for me.

Great winner, well done Rob! Really strong song and not surprised to see it run away with it. Very pleased seeing USJ in 2nd too, 'Attack On Panic' was a fab grower.

 

Result is okay, I'm very grateful to the minority of people who managed to scrape me into the final and, well, not last. Would have liked a little more but I wasn't expecting it so that's all good.
