I'm holding off ordering anything, I'm not desperate for this album and it seems like the bundles won't sell out. There will be an inevitable black Friday or half price sale in November so I just have to keep restraint.

The blue vinyl looks beautiful though that is a tempter.

It's a shame if you don't buy even the standard version to help towards the charts

Oh my at there now being another version! £29.99 though :drama:

Is anyone able to find the CDs on HMV? They don’t appear when I search Melanie C.

I know that would be the only reason to get it first week. I'll stream it I just don't want to pay silly money for it.

I do think she has gone a bit heavy on the vinyls, they are lovely items but most artists who want to scam multiple sales from their fans these days do it through multiple cassettes. It really helped Emma having 2, she actually finished up having the 13th best selling cassette of last year I think. There has been a lot of number 1 albums this year where basically cassettes got the artists there. They are so much cheaper than vinyls so fans tend to snap them up more.

Vinyl (Black - Signed)

Vinyl (Black - Unsigned)

Vinyl (Transparent Blue)

3xVinyl (Deluxe Book - Signed and Numbered)

I think for the most part her fans will have to choose which one or maybe two they find the most appealing. I think only the most hardcore of collectors would order it all.

A lot of artists offer a few different vinyl colours (for example Kylie’s new one is on black, clear, blue and turquoise); it’ll be interesting to see if Melanie actually manages to sell all these. It definitely shows a lot of confidence.

I would agree that ideally Melanie would have had at least one more cassette (and priced cheaper than £9).

Fair play to Melanie and her team for realising multiple formats is how you do album releases nowadays, I just hope she sells a decent amount!

Also Sammy if you don’t at least get a CD in release week, we’re banning you xxx

A warning to EVERYBODY! We require photo evidence too! :arrr:

Only the deluxe version and the blue vinyl come up for me, after Stages and Version of me.

A great interview with BBC:

Including this small description of the album’s themes & the song Overload:

Over the next 35 minutes, she sings about letting go of old hang-ups, having nothing left to hide and refusing to conform to expectations. "I don't want to be your acceptable version of me," goes the refrain of roller-disco jam Overload.

Based on that tiny snippet of lyrics, it seems her career may have come full circle. Back on Reason, Positively Somewhere sounded like her defiantly shedding her pop roots. Now...maybe she's defiantly reclaiming her pop roots? I mean. I acknowledge I'm just assuming that over very few lyrics here. The song could be about anything.

I'm so on board with her current direction, though. Once the day arrives she can actually perform on stage again, I wonder what her show could look like? Would she be open to possibly incorporating some choreography? She did some in her Sink the Pink shows. This album seems pointed in the same direction.

Personally, I'd love a show that darts to all her extremes. Have her get up there and do Goin Down...AND Say You'll Be There...AND Never Be the Same Again...AND the new dancey stuff...AND a big show tune (but just one, really...let's not get crazy). Just throw the iamspamspamamisink at it. I'd be up for it.

HMV prices have reduced a bit - the blue vinyl is now £24.99 (originally listed as £29.99), Deluxe CD is £14.99 (originally listed as £17.99).

Looks like it! They should really alter the title of that listing so that it draws more attention to the fact that it’s signed.

Here is a recent interview Melanie did in which she gives new insights on the album:

10 tracks is a bit measly when it is looking likely she will release 4 before the album. It will be only 6 new songs to hear upon release. Interesting strategy though.

You can listen to 2 minute clips on beatport.com for ever song.

Every song sounds great.

Good Enough and End Of Everything stand out.

But I can’t see myself skipping any song !!

Good Enough sounds MASSIVE! :w00t:
