How many Madonna songs are left at this point? This is her fourth one eliminated I think although not too sure.
66. Madonna - Live To Tell

Average score - 6.479

Stopped by : Falco - Rock Me Amadeus

Top scores : 11 - Bjork,marcinjaro,DASHER77,M4NGO,DANTEFUEGO,girlsaloudjunkie

Low scores : -1 - dutch22, 0 - Jason, 0.5 - Dobbo,jszmiles

This got off to a flyer with the first two voters giving it 11 points. It was still the early leader after three of the next five voters gave it a score of 10. Things went downhill after that despite six people in total giving the song their maximum score of 11. 'Live To Tell' was Madonna's tenth top 5 single.

So So shocked this is out; this is my favourite #2 of all time. As commented on already, very sad to see seemingly tactical voting at play here on such a great poll. Perhaps next time the voting shouln't be visible until the end; as Live To Tell seemed to be doing so well...

Just remember guys; a Pop Princess will never ever be a Pop Queen....

The host should have the confidence not to include the trolled votes .

They are putting in a lot of work for an unjustified result .

Vibe,I've already told you that Live To Tell finished 17th in the first round when everyone picked their top 30 songs. It was only 7th in its semi-final. So,it was always unlikely to do well in the final. Ballads are generally not very popular on Buzzjack. Looking at the results of the number 1 poll last year, the highest placed song that I would call a ballad was Someone Like You by Adele which only finished 19th. Live To Tell obviously has some people on here who love it but most of the voters are not big fans of the song and that's reflected in their scores. Most of the Madonna fans seem to have voted early on.

I can't see much evidence of tactical voting here. Maybe one or two people might have given a score of -1 to a song which isn't their least favourite but with 49 voters, something like that will have very little effect on the outcome. I don't know who these 'trolls' are you are referring to,you need to name names. Just because some people spread their scores out and included more low scores than others, doesn't make them trolls.

56. Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight

Average score - 6.582

Stopped by : John Lennon - Woman

Top scores : 10 - marcinjaro,King Rollo,Jamie Barkley,Addy,Dobbo,Dexton,JackJones,Rush

Low scores : 0.5 - Jason, 1 - Jay1982, 2 - Darrenj,Spiceboy,dandy*

Phil Collins' debut solo single with its renowned drum break. The gated reverb sound used for the drums was stumbled upon by accident while Phil Collins and his engineer Hugh Padgham were recording his drum part on a song called 'Intruder' for Peter Gabriel's third album. 'In The Air Tonight' was a top 5 hit again when a re-mixed version was released in 1988.

55. Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag

Average score - 6.602

Stopped by : Atomic Kitten - Whole Again

Top scores : 10 - Scene,Mark223,Jason,Dexton,girlsaloudjunkie

Low scores : -1 - RobBot,danG,Bre

This song has certainly divided opinions. It finishes 55th despite having three scores of -1. Just listening to it now,I recognise parts that went on to be sampled in a song I'm more familiar with called 'Frontier Psychiatrist' by Avalanches. The follow up to this reached number 3 but they had no more top 20 hits after that.

54. Destiny's Child - Lose My Breath

Stopped by : Eminem - Just Lose It, U2 - Vertigo, Girls Aloud - I'll Stand By You

Low scores : 0.5 - King Rollo,Jason, 2 - Jay1982,coi,DANTEFUEGO,Suedehead,dutch22

This was a new entry at no.2 in a week when the entire top 5 was made up of new entries by American acts. It stayed in that position for four weeks and was Destiny Child's seventh consecutive top 5 single.

53. Disclosure featuring AlunaGeorge - White Noise

Average score - 6.684

Stopped by : Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz - Thrift Shop

Top scores : 11 - PeteFromLeeds, 10 - danG,SevenSeize

Low scores : 0 - Achabaan, 1 - Spiceboy,DASHER77,Jay1982,DANTEFUEGO

From 2013,this was one of only two top 10 hits for Disclosure. Vocals are by Aluna Francis who is one half of AlunaGeorge.

Wheatus is disgustingly high but at this point I'm relieved it at least isn't in the top half.

(Is it really sampled in 'Frontier Psychiatrist'? I've never noticed if so, Google isn't coming up with any results about that as far as I can tell )

I think some people should stop all this silly tactical/trolling voting conversation because they gave theirs 11 and 10 to all Madonna songs and gave low scores to all current acts. So, this is a kind of tactical voting TOO.

Just wondering if any chart or global MOD could do an IP check of all members who have voted in this poll, including someone who created his profile in the same day he voted and had his only 2 posts in these Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 2 Single and said 'Live To Tell is my best number 2 single EVER' exactly like some other 2 or 3 members did here.

I've just checked the IP address in question and there isn't a match Jason.

It's a rate guys, it's really not worth getting this upset about.

Plus the Madonna tracks wouldn’t be too skewed anyway plus all the 00s would just bring down the others to a smaller average so it’s not a massive issue.

That must be me you're referring to Jason; I've been a 'guest' on this forum for many years, usually viewing it daily from my mobile - I only joined so that I could vote in the #2 poll because I loved it and because I genuinely love Madonna....I love 'Live To Tell', and I wanted it to do well. Like most people on here, I'm passionate about good music.

There is no hidden motive or agenda, I love Buzzjack, so let's park the drama, the suspicion and general oddness and move on. I'll be sure to post on here more regularly now, so be sure to look out for my name Jase....

I was thinking the part of Teenage Dirtbag from 1.07 to 1.17 is the same as the talking bird part of Frontier Psychiatrist but having just listened to the latter just now,I don't think it's exactly the same. :P

Frontier Psychiatrist has so many samples, it’s easy to mistake some. Great song though!

Welcome! Or at least a delayed welcome if you've been lurking for years!

We're always happy to see new faces in the Madonna forum if you ever fancy joining in the chat there
