August 27, 20213 yr It's a stunning album, just hearing her voice on new material is enough for me  the Breathe In cover is really good!
August 27, 20213 yr Missing You, I Hope You Dance, Heaven and Breathe In I think Thanks, definitely need to check this album out.
August 31, 20213 yr 77 in the mids,, so sadly it will miss the top 100, I genuinely thought she could do enough to get a top 100 album this week.
September 2, 20213 yr The chart position will be disappointing. But I am shocked by how much I love this album. It’s growing on me more each day. I am not a S Club fan and never heard Jo’s first album but this has converted me. The only songs I skip are the 2 acoustic ones. Love the rest.
September 2, 20213 yr It was always going to be a uphill battle for Jo to make this album a success but in fairness to her and her team they done everything they could with multiple formats, getting its stocked in HMV etc and Jo managed to get quite a bit of daytime and radio promo. It deserves to do much better than its chart placing tomorrow
September 3, 20213 yr I haven't seen the Top 200 yet, but judging by it being midweek #148 on Thursday, chances are it has missed the chart today :( Jo really needed some support from Radio 2 to connect with a larger audience.
September 4, 20213 yr I do feel for her she really put her heart into this album and is bound to feel deflated by the outcome.
September 4, 20213 yr I haven't seen the Top 200 yet, but judging by it being midweek #148 on Thursday, chances are it has missed the chart today :( Jo really needed some support from Radio 2 to connect with a larger audience. The whole album is so Radio 2 friendly, I don't understand why they didn't bother with her. I still think people think of her Big Brother stint whenever she's brought up.
September 4, 20213 yr I guess that was the last time she was particularly notable unfortunately. Jade Goody was quite prominent in proving her remorse and then her tragic cancer ordeal saw quite the public turnaround, but Jo's been in the shadows since then (save for the S Club reunion where she was one of seven people so I doubt people overly cared). People definitely still think of the racism first for her and the high quality of this album probably wasn't enough for Radio 2 to overlook that, no matter how many times she's apologised in the years since. A shame because I really do love the album.
September 4, 20213 yr I think aswell, the attitude towards racism has rightfully changed over the past year with tolerance levels finally at an all time low and any promotion Jo has done regarding the album has either erased the CBB incident or spoke about how difficult the ordeal was for her[/]. I know it’s been 14 years but considering that was really the last thing Jo featured prominently in, I think she really should’ve spoken about it before releasing the album? Maybe then radio stations etc would’ve been more open to playing her music. I love the album btw and I don’t think she really needs any more hate, and I can understand why she hasn’t opened up about it.
September 4, 20213 yr Big Brother really destroyed her and she never really got the opportunity to move on from it, she didnt have the profile to turn things around and I think its probably why radio 2 didnt support her as to be fair its not because of the quality of the music.
September 4, 20213 yr I don’t think it bodes well when she discusses CBB with a poor me attitude. She really should’ve just apologised for what happened but the mentions of I lost everything, I’m still rebuilding, this happened to me isn’t really gonna make people feel sorry for her. It’s not the best of moves to make out you’re the victim in situations where you were in the wrong. The CBB she was on was at the time the most complained about thing on TV ever wasn’t it. Jo was always gonna struggle after that show. I’d argue she had the most to lose being a musician and a member of a group who were at the time a fairly big name. Jade being a reality star with no major talent it would’ve easier for her to turn things around if life wasn’t as tragic and with Danielle being a model and not exactly a household name she could go on to go a tad unscathed by the whole thing even though she was actually the worst behaved it was probably easier for her to continue her career than it would’ve been for Jo who’s career lies in music. Plus this is her first album in well over a decade things weren’t even going well for her solo career before she did Big Brother. She’s probably still gonna be getting work in terms of gigs and what not especially if there’s other bandmates with her.
