So we've got Dua and Zara this week and Little Mix next! Good times!!

don’t forget Katy!

No sign of it in the New Music Friday playlist - I wonder if they'll add it after the video premiere at 1pm?

No big playlists, not even small ones. It got terrible playlisting.

Unless there's a new mix or something it won't be on the New Music Friday playlist. They don't add songs that have been made singles but were previously available.

My bad I thought they did as usually singles are added as a "Single" under the artists discography and thus a "new release". Probably only when they get the remix package out then.

I really like the video. At first I was thinking "please don't let this be 4 minutes of cartoon Dua performing the song", but then it got super creative. Works really well with a song called 'Hallucinate.'

They do very very occasionally (I specifically remember, of all things, an album track from Ólafur Arnalds being put on NMF when it had only had a video release) but yeah in general that is the case. x

Really cool video *.* bright and trippy enough to match the song (echoing John-James' comment, Cuphead was the first thing I thought of )

I don't know if I am honest...I feel like it's such a waste opportunity but I understand the reasons why she couldn't give us proper video.

Now I feel like Bre is right about the chart performance...I just hope it'll get few weeks inside top 40!!!

I love the video!! Reminds me a lot of the early 00's when we had animated video's, like Sugababes' Angels With Dirty Faces and the segment in Madonna's Music, and it suits the whole era very well. I know she probably wouldn't have done this kind of video if it wasn't for corona, but in a way I'm glad it went this way for her. It's a shame the Don't Start Me Now video was rather dull as the other ones have been so good.

This is true, it’s very trippy!

I think it’s nice for something different and, as I said before, I can’t hack another music video of fans dancing in their rooms. Also, it works well with the song.

But it doesn’t really have a replay value though :nocheer:

The song has to work just in itself for a success!!!

The animated video is terrible. I yawned! -_-

As for the song itself, it sounds rather cheesy & dated, as if it was taken from a lost S Club 7 album in 2000.

The video is very good considering it's animated - I think even in normal circumstances 'Hallucinate' doesn't scream for a super-creative-concept video whereas songs like 'Levitating' and 'Love Again' do. Therefore I am happy 'Hallucinate' was made a single now and hopefully the other two get single treatment later down the line when lockdown is over and amazing videos can be made. :kink: 'Levitating' in particular is begging for a sci-fi, futuristic, riding-on-the-rings-of-Saturn type video.

That really is utterly ridiculous.
