It's wild that this album was the best selling album in USA 1997. Sometimes, one needs a reminder of how huge they were! It's crazy!

Just like the Greatest Hits, it looks like Spice25 is getting a repress in June! https://shop.universalmusic.it/products/spice-girls-spice-25th-anniversary-box-doppio-cd

A classic! It will forever be a classic.

I mean, what an introduction to a group. It really made them stand out at the time and that has yet to change today. Many tryed to replicate this magic, but no one has even come close to it.

It might not be my favourite of theirs today, but I LOVED IT when I was 10 years old  I remember I joined my older sister's group of friends everytime they would sing it in their room, and I would be Victoria cos I was tall and skinny. But I always wanted to be Baby LOL

Now we swiftly reach my favourite song on the album <3 still a friendship-heavy message but with a more classy sound. The video is an absolute staple in terms of their visuals too! Possibly their absolute best? So much fun

Say You'll Be There is COOOOOOOOL.

I always thought this was ultimate Spice: funky, colourful and cool, with an edge. I think lyrically and sonically it really helped establish their sound and that they were worth of notice to the public and critics. Probably the perfect second single, one of the best ever.

Say You'll Be There certainly proved that the Spice Girls were here to stay! Such a cool song, full of girl power :music:

I'll give you everything, on this I swear

Just promise you'll always be there!

FYI The harmonica solo was Emma's idea as she's a big fan of Stevie Wonder.

The harmonica was played by Judd Lander, who also played on the Culture Club Hit 'Karma Chameleon'

Emma = Queen of music

'2 Become 1' is my favourite on the album. It's the 'Viva Forever' of Spice. What a TUNE. 11 year old me thinking I was getting my LIFE knowing this had ~sexual~ connotations and I thought I was that bad bitch singing it in the playground. What a beautiful song <3

So cute  I too always wanted to be Baby (and for a while I was convinced I was going to going to marry her when I turned 18  )

When the video for 2B1 came out my friend at school told me Emma and Geri were sisters and I believed her for about 2 years lol

2 Become 1 is just gorgeous  Such a classy vibe, very romantic sounding. I can't help but feel Christmassy when I listen to it, I always strongly associate the song with that time of year. All their vocals are lovely, Emma in particular really shines.

WHAT A TUNE! WHAT A BALAD!!

ICONIC beyond belief. And the fact that the song seems to mean something different depending on at what period of your life you are listening to it, is quite amazing. Back then it was mostly about love. Now we understand it to be also about sex - specially protective sex - and friendship.

We love a multi-layered song, from a multy-layered ICONIC group :cheer:

I also love how this also gets streams/sales around Christmas because even though it doesnt sound like a Christmas song, it will forever be associated with it. And rightly so!!!

What other girlband sold 400,000 copies in ONE WEEK from the THIRD single from an album that was already multi-platinum by the time of its release? Iconic!

'Love Thing' was one of a handful of songs that clicked with me more than ever before on tour! Such a fun and sassy sing-a-long moment
