I totally stole this thread idea from the pop forum. :kink: After all everyone loves a rate. Without stepping on the toes of the genre forums, pre-2000 and Artist Forums, this would be a good place for anyone wanting to host a rate or to suggest rates for the future.

 

Any ideas are welcome - whether it be a specific artist rate, a rate of a 00s album or even something away from music like a Harry Potter film rate. B-) (I think the majority of them came out in the noughties :unsure: )

 

In terms of artists, it is probably best to choose those whose career/bulk of hits were in the noughties - like Amy Winehouse for example. Artists who don't have a big back catalogue of hits can always do a "vs" rate with another artist. For some reason I was thinking of a Natasha Bedingfield vs Jamelia rate.

 

Also I'm aware Jonjo has a list of artists he's planning on doing rates for in Pop forum so obv we won't step on his toes. :angel:

That's good to hear. :D I was thinking of maybe doing the top 10 best selling singles of each year in one rate which would make it a top 100. Although that will end up being the same songs in my survivor games. :lol: :thinking:

Yeah I think twisting a bit would give more variety and a chance to other songs as well!!!

 

Perhaps open a round for each year with Top 40 YEC and have people vote for their top 10/20 and then the top 10 most voted will go to semi finals/finals, and in that case we prevent songs like Bob The Builder representing the final :kink:

I would love to see a massive rate. I do not mean this to sound awful, but this forum looks so spammy with all the posts on the front page being polls... I don't think that's what was intended when it was created? Eek!

Isn't the Buzzjack's Favourite Noughties Single rate considered a massive rate? :P The polls are very popular hence why they're continuing but more non-poll threads are more than welcome to add some variety. Also, you're more than welcome to bring something new. :D

I'm planning on a sequel to Buzzjack's Favourite Noughties Single but waiting for Addy to post his thoughts. I'm torn between two ideas so thought running a poll would be fun... :kink:

Oh I see there may be some confusion just to clarify I didn't mean creating a new sub-forum specifically for 00s, rather just dumping old 00s survivor threads in 'artist forum archive', or do mgmt only want that forum for actual AFs to dump their old polls?

Rates have gone well so far with U2 and Jamelia. Some more will be on the way soon and if anyone else wants to do a rate sometime then you can post in here your interest of doing so ^_^

I would like to do a rate from the acts of the first season of 'The Big Reunion', the singles of 5ive, 911, Atomic Kitten, B*Witched, Honeyz, Liberty X & Blue. All of their singles released during the 90's & 00's (their heydays) into one big rate.
