Can't see that happening but would be great, imagine a limbo tv performance, get on board with a a remix from another artist in time for the vinyl release.

According to an insider on SayHey this will be "a wide release" i.e. it shouldn't be too limited or hard to get.

Also this vinyl wasn't meant to be officially announced "until after September 7th 2022" so we'll have to be more patient for this one :o

The dutch website sent out an email to everyone who pre-ordered to say they went too early with it but that all pre-orders are secure.

They should have it up for pre order everywhere asap to help them know the demanf so they can issue enough copies and not make the mistake of been short.

So many Kylie fans want this release.

10,000 UK sales on the week of release is very attainable if there is enough copies available.

I dont think think that many will be available in the UK alone but if there was and it sold that much it would easily go Top 10, part of me think there will initially be only about 3k available that will count towards the UK chart.

I would be stunned if there was the level of demand for Impossible Princess to sell 10k :kink: I don’t think we should get carried away, it’ll always be an album with niche interest. I suppose it does rest on how many colours there are and what the availability is, but I wouldn’t say that there’ll be thousands of fans prepared to buy one of each. Many will settle for just one, and of course there’ll be a chunk of Kylie’s fanbase that either don’t care for this album or don’t do vinyl. I think if it managed 2k - 3k that would be an excellent outcome.

“Spice 25” had 6 widely available vinyl formats and they sold 4,563 vinyl copies in its release week, and that’s with Spice being one of the best selling albums of all time. Albeit Spice is an album that was already available on vinyl previously, whereas Impossible Princess isn’t… but I still don’t see it being a huge seller.

Spice suffered slightly due to it previously available on vinyl as you outlined which is something Impossible Princess never had.

Previous Kylie albums sold around 3000 with limited availability and no options for different colours at the same time when purchasing.

Those options came at separate intervels with Fever.

Its a hard one to call until we know exactly whats been released, i think it will be down to how much is available and how many dif colours they release, i def think it will be more popular than the recent infinite disco vinyl release.

I agree. I think it stands a chance at hitting 4k as 'Fever' sold 3,379 when it re-entered at #23 last October and this has the advantage of being a highly anticipated release from the fans and being the first time it's been available on vinyl. No chance of 10k though, not even the likes of The Beatles or Oasis have reached 10k vinyl with their album re-releases in recent years and that's with the most iconic albums of all time.

The Sainsbury’s releases on vinyl sold the below (I can’t find a figure for LY but looking at what charted ahead and behind on the week it was released it looks like it sold 2k).

KM94 - 1,587

Light Years - 2,000

Fever - 3,379

The Sainsbury’s releases were notoriously difficult to track down, I think if there are multiple formats and the fact it looks likely that it will be widely available added to the fact this is something the fanbase have been screaming for then 4k should be easily achievable? Aside from the Kylie fans the resellers who made ££ off the back of Fever and LY will snap them up too in the hopes of making a profit.

Resellers will def snap up copies of IP to make money at a future point, i do think IP can at least match those sales of Fever and probably sell more as its something the fans have waited for, for a long time, fever got a few different releases over the years so i think IP is more in demand that way although less appealing to a casual fan than Fever.

^^ I guess they wanted to get EFY out of the way as IP I believe goes up for pre-ordered shortly after.

Would be nice to promote this album with a single release or promotion tool.

Say Hey would be my choice or I don't need anyone

Here for this - even if they gave us the unreleased UK single ‘Cowboy Style’.

They could easily drop a video to promote the release (providing they are not limiting the vinyl to silly numbers!).
