A couple of people couldn't answer this one whilst Mack went with Mika who has only had 6 UK Top 40s so is a wrong answer. Edited May 10, 20205 yr by chrissmith276
May 10, 20205 yr 5 Seconds of Summer were my first thought so I'm glad I stuck with that *.* The only other one I could think of was Sophie Ellis-Bextor as a solo artist (thanks to the feature on 'Groovejet') but she was in a band beforehand so that all seemed like too much of a faff
May 10, 20205 yr Took me absolutely ages of searching to find 5SOS so I'm glad my efforts paid off! Would never have thought of Martin Garrix and Ace of Base seems obvious when I think about it now.
May 10, 20205 yr Are Kate Bush and Ace Of Base not wrong answers as well? Their first singles didn't debut at #1. It took me a while to think of anything for that question as well, 5SOS was the only one I was able to come up with and they only barely qualified
May 10, 20205 yr I really thought 5SOS had two #1 singles here for some reason so I didn’t even consider them! I knew Ella wouldn’t be the top scorer though
May 10, 20205 yr Author 13. Nobody went for JT's debut Like I Love You! Edited May 10, 20205 yr by chrissmith276
May 10, 20205 yr Are Kate Bush and Ace Of Base not wrong answers as well? Their first singles didn't debut at #1. Chris clarified a few days ago that by 'their first single debuted at number one' he meant 'their debut single reached number one'.
May 10, 20205 yr Noooooo!! Cry Me A River is my fave as well lol I just always see the press call him sexy back and I hear that way more so I went with Sexy Back shocked it’s not even second top scorer lol.
May 10, 20205 yr Author Are Kate Bush and Ace Of Base not wrong answers as well? Their first singles didn't debut at #1. It took me a while to think of anything for that question as well, 5SOS was the only one I was able to come up with and they only barely qualified  Wuthering Heights for Kate Bush and All That She Wants for Ace of Base were their first singles and both went to #1. Debut doesn't mean it had to go straight in at #1 just has to have reached #1.
May 10, 20205 yr I was torn between Cry Me A River or Can't Stop The Feeling, glad I went for the former, even if it's just for one extra point.
May 10, 20205 yr Wuthering Heights for Kate Bush and All That She Wants for Ace of Base were their first singles and both went to #1. Debut doesn't mean it had to go straight in at #1 just has to have reached #1. Oh ~ Well it's a good thing 5SOS' song did happen to debut at #1 anyway because if not I'd have assumed that wouldn't count and don't know if I'd have been able to find another answer  I was initially going to put 'Mirrors' for the JT question, good thing I rethought that one ~
May 10, 20205 yr Justin Timberlake was a good one to choose for a FF question as there wasn't an obvious answer.
May 10, 20205 yr I briefly considered 'Can't Stop The Feeling' and 'Mirrors' but ultimately 'Cry Me A River' feels like his signature song

May 10, 20205 yr Yesss for Womanizer. To me it feels like her biggest song what wasn’t a chart topper here and it’s remembered very well too.

There wasn't an obvious long running #1 in 2000 so a number of different answers here with Madonna and Kylie scraping just 1 point. Mack has a wrong answer with Eamonn's F*ck It (I Don’t Want You Back) which didn't chart until 2004!
May 10, 20205 yr That was one of the hardest ones as there really was no obvious choice. Glad I somehow managed to pick one of the top answers though :D
