The song is great  It's nice for her to experiment with her voice, as that lower register is a much welcomed change on a Mel C single. I like it a lot actually, I think it is a better song than Who I Am and High Heels, so for me, it's another step in the right direction.

It does feel somewhat short though, ah.

The video is cute, one of her best yet in the past 10 years. I don't love it, but you can certainly tell it's a bit higher budget than the previous ones and THANK GOD for that Spice World Tour 2019 money hey?! Anymore, Dear Life, Weak, High Hells and Think About It are the types of videos that wanted to be BIG and EXPANSIVE but just looked cheap... This one at least, looks better ah.

Whilst it feels like a cool concept, I don't think it goes far enough with it. Like in Who I Am, it sort of feels quite stuck in one place, which is a shame as that concept would allow her to expand more creatively. However, I do like the references to her own music and the styling of it.

It's funny that all her videos on this era have been quite dark. The lighting in all three of them seems quite low, which is an odd choice as if they were a bit more light, you could see better and perhaps it would feel better quality? I still have slight nightmares of that black & white scene in High Hells :kink:

I'm actually not sure if it's as much of a higher budget as it's that she's taking creative risks with the video - of course, by taking risks with a limited budget it also means some things can end up looking dodgy (like the computer screen with the office worker). It's also probably why it feels like it ends up staying a bit in the same place, but I feel this sort of works with the song.

Not bad song but prefer the other two tracks from this era. Can’t wait for the album!
Should Melanie start asking for pre orders ?
She is being really silly not doing physical copies of the songs! I mean she can sell 2000 copies on her website to fans she should be doing a limited run and selling them at £5 a pop and making a profit on it 🤔

I wish she would do physicals too. Emma’s Royal Albert Hall CD proved without a doubt that there is a loyal following who’ll buy everything they put out - even if it’s a 2 track single retailing for £10 like Emma.

Idk, perhaps it’s too difficult to organise it, particularly during the times we’re living in.

Ideally she’d do a CD, 7” vinyl and cassette for her singles. There’s so many fans who’d buy all three, some who’d buy two of each, and some would buy even more copies because they want to put them on eBay lol.

This is A) BRILLIANT and B) Really current sounding.

It saddens me that older artists can release great stuff like this and get nowhere with it. :(

But ah well, she's releasing great stuff at the moment and she's totally on form (I'll even include 'High Heels' in that - shoot me).

 Glad to see you’re enjoying this era so much so far, Aly!

I would definitely buy a CD from her latest singles tbh. I havent done that in ages (since BI times) as her singles have not been good enough for me to depart with that cash, but High Heels, Who I Am and Blame It On Me were good enough for me to buy some CDs eheh

I also think she does have a bit more awareness of her work recently, so could easily shift a couple thousand copies. Call it a limited edition of 3,000, charge like £5 per item and voilá!

A CD single + a cassette and a vinyl would be a dream. I would probably buy the vinyl too. I was sad that Emma didnt do a physical release for BPDS or YAINTGB last year, specially as she had so many editions for MHP ahah

Melanie C's new video 'Blame It On Me' has reached 250k views on YouTube in just 3 days.

Hopefully this can get to 1 million sometime in June :)

Is that good? I have no idea nowadays lol...

Well during the VOM era the videos ranged from 250-850k and Who I Am got to 1m pretty quickly and now its over 2 million views

For Melanie C to get 250,000 views in just 3 days is amazing and is a good sign hopefully for when the album comes out.

High Heels has 633,000 views, but I never think of it as an 'official' single from the forthcoming album and more of a one-off collaboration because of the Sink the Pink Tour.

I would say that 250k is rather impressive for someone like Mel, especially since the song hasn't gotten a lot of attention yet and was released in the same week as Chromatica (which I assume a lot of Spice fans are enjoying at the moment as well).

Debut live performance of Blame It On Me:

And here is the the rest of the live set (including an interview):

I love her but she really needs to make her home performances more interesting. Those curtains are UGLY and she has no space to move...

That's a bit rude  Let's not be horrible about Melanie's home
