May 15, 20205 yr Author Gutted for two of my forums to be out, but no surprises, I don't think either could possibly have done any better. First Time High was Rita's only realistic choice, and Shawn had no clear option - us Shawn mods had certainly resigned ourselves to leaving in round 3 and simply going out on a high!
May 15, 20205 yr Shawn was always doomed here, a good song from him but still just missed out on my votes oops. No complaints at Rita going, not the worst song here either (why is Zara still in xox) but also not great. Take That surviving again! :cheer:
May 15, 20205 yr Those 11 extra votes at the end really came through Shame to see Rita and Shawn out though :/ they both had some gems still to fight! I’m less gutted I didn’t give Bad Reputation a vote now seeing it wouldn’t have made much difference. Thanks to everyone who gave Scared Of Lonely a point :wub: I’ll be less antsy this round I promise my heads all over the place rn I needed to vent lol
May 15, 20205 yr Why is it Buzzjack crashes for me every time a new round appears? :lol: I like both songs that Rita and Shawn sent but it was a very tough round, much more so than I was anticipating. I agree that they both had the best possible choices.
May 15, 20205 yr Rita :( can't complain as I didn't vote for her though It's a good song but in such a strong round is missed out. Honestly not one of my favourite album tracks on Phoenix. Cashmere would've won the round and possibly the whole competition tbh x Shawn's song has grown so much in my affections since I heard it, I'm not mad at it going out but it's a shame it got so few votes :'( I'm surprised Take That beat Rita. Slay that underdog realness *___*

May 15, 20205 yr As Joseph says, this round was just about choosing which song to go out on a high with (much deliberation along the way :kink:), thrilled Shawn made it to round 3 and that we didn't doom ourselves with Señorita as per Joseph's round 1 suggestion xx Shocked at Rita leaving too though :o Shame :(

May 15, 20205 yr i guess it shows Rita is definitely more of a singles artist! I thought I’d prefer the free choice rounds but it actually makes it a lot harder with the choice so wide open. At least with the criteria, you can pick the best option and hope for the best :lol:

May 15, 20205 yr So we say goodbye to the following three forums </3 : Rita Ora - First Time High [17 votes] Shawn Mendes - Bad Reputation [8 votes] 'First Time High' didn't really seem like a strong song to me personally, but I have no idea what her most popular non-singles are so I assume if everyone (read: all 3 people) in the thread agreed on 'First Time High', it must be it. (My favourite non-single on that album / the one I remember best was 'Falling To Pieces'. My favourite track on it overall is easily Rudimental's 'Summer Love' which appears not to have had a video but I feel like nobody else ever cared about that song.)
