I think the season might be done now after what has happened to Arteta. If that's the case then I've got mixed feelings about this as a Man United fan, general football fan. It looks unavoidable at the moment.
UEFA meets on Tuesday and its expected that Euro 2020 will move to next summer so I can see the domestic leagues stopping until maybe June and then being finished over the summer then just starting the new season straight away.

Jan Vertonghen's family was held at knifepoint as four armed men burgled his home while he was on Champions League duty with Tottenham on Tuesday.

Police confirmed men wearing balaclavas forced their way into the house while his wife and children were inside.

The FA have decided to extend the suspension of English football to the 30th of April and have agreed that the season can be "extended indefinitely"

It looks increasingly like the 2020/21 season is going to be written off just so that this season can end. To be honest there should be a point where you would have to let go of 2019-20 if the Corona situation doesn't improve within the calendar year.

I don't think you can write this season off without any sort of guarantee that you can actually get next season in, and I wouldn't be surprised if we're still not playing by next season's start. If it does gets to towards the end of this calendar year then may as well just carry on, no point starting anything again next season as you've got a written off 3/4 season and half a season, just have one complete one surely?

Realistically games will have to be played behind closed doors in order to get the season finished and it could be done if all of the players and staff in all football teams self isolate. There is the issue of players who have contracts that will last until 30th June potentially being out of contract if the season goes beyond June. I'm a bit surprised that they didn't announce today that matches would be played behind closed doors. It would help with mass gatherings not taking place and there would be no need for police assistance, unless if fans stupidly gather outside the stadium on matchdays like what Valencia fans did recently in the Champions League.

That's true about the players who's contracts end. Sort of like I said the teams will be nearly different by the time the players next play.

This season will be completed even if it's not until the summer or autumn and then they'll look at ways to run a shortened 2020/21 season ahead of the Euros.

It's crazy to think that today is the day when in all likelihood Liverpool would have officially become Premier League champions!
Southampton Chief Executive suggests hope is they can finish season by end of June (or mid July at the latest) and they think government would be happy at suitable point so those at home can watch it and a sign of slowly returning to normality - he spoke about PL football possibly being on TV every day.

The Premier League could lose £1bn if the 2019-2020 season cannot finish - and English football faces "the danger of losing clubs and leagues" amid economic challenges "beyond the wildest imagination".

The season has been halted indefinitely amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Premier League chief executive Richard Masters warned of "further losses" if the situation "deepens and extends" beyond this season.

West Ham have become the second Premier League club to announce their players will defer part of their wages because of the coronavirus pandemic.

It follows a similar move from Southampton on Thursday.

Manager David Moyes, vice-chairman Karren Brady and finance director Andy Mollett will take a 30% pay cut.

Joint chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold and shareholders are putting £30m into the club.

Finishing the season in a 40-day window was one of the scenarios discussed at a Premier League meeting on Friday.

Top-flight clubs remain committed to playing all 92 remaining fixtures this season but did not discuss a deadline by which action must resume.

Clubs were expected to debate a 30 June deadline to end the season but instead discussed "possible scheduling models".

The Premier League said it "remains our objective" to complete matches but currently "all dates are tentative".

I've heard of an option where matches could take place at St Georges Park behind closed doors in order to finish the season and also that teams could play matches every 3 or so days. I think this would be a good idea for when the league eventually comes back. If things were normal now this weekend would have been FA Cup semi final weekend and by now we would know the semi finalists of the Champions League and Europa League :(

I'd like football to come back as soon as it's possible to do so but at the same time I don't feel anxious for it to come back like I would have done a month ago because there doesn't seem to be any sign of it coming back anytime soon, but I will be glad when it does come back (even if that means Liverpool winning the title )

I get the feeling COVID-19 doesn’t want Liverpool to win the title either

Well it doesn't matter because, Liverpool will be crowned champions regardless :P

I still think the season will play out in full.. eventually.
