June 7, 20205 yr Okay, that's my listen over with! :wub: Heart is cut from the same cloth as Girl in the Mirror and Dear Diary, but it's a more subtle and subdued offering. It's quite charming! I remember playing it quite a lot in 2000 because it was the B Side on the Lucky single. :wub: 1. Stronger 2. Oops!...I Did It Again 3. Lucky 4. Can't Make You Love Me 5. When Your Eyes Say It 6. Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know 7. What U See (Is What U Get) 8. Don't Go Knockin' on My Door 9. One Kiss from You 10. (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction 11. Where Are You Now 12. Dear Diary 13. Girl in the Mirror 14. Heart 15. You Got It All Overall it's a really solid album, and a definite step up from her debut! Still firmly in "teen pop princess" mode, but that was the perfect and natural fit for her in 2000. It makes me feel slightly emotional that this era was 20 years ago. Twenty. Years. Ago. :cry: A listen of this takes me right back to being 12 years old. I can't say it was a totally carefree time because Year 7 is really quite a huge change from primary school and there were dramas~ that come with being at secondary school. I played this album so regularly during my free time though, so it makes me think of happy memories! Thank you for hosting this once again, Jonjo! Really looking forward to 'Britney'. It's been fantastic to see a few of you taking part in this too, thank you very much for your posts and ranks! :D

June 11, 20205 yr Author Since the listening party I've become so infatuated with 'When Your Eyes Say It'. It's stunning and I slept on it for SO long. I did the whole album tbh. It's flawless. I'd probably say it's higher than 'Circus' and 'Femme Fatale' for me, bumping it from 3rd least favourite. Before I re-listen to the other albums, here's where they stand currently: 01. Blackout 02. June 11, 20205 yr Damn I missed it! So disappointed Anyway, this album is the perfect pure pop album. It really is part of my trinity because it defines early Britney like no other album. Its hard to make an album with a pure pop late 90s/early 00s aesthetic and make it actually sound good for 2 decades. I think only "Millennium" has the same power. My highlights from the album are Can't Make You Love Me, Where Are You Now, What U See (Is What U Get), One Kiss From You and When Your Eyes Say It (still wish they'd release the damn video) Edited June 11, 20205 yr by Euphorique
