Such a mess... Do these albums they're selling for 99 cents count for the chart or not?

The fact they even reduced their album to a shockingly low 99p conveys their absolute desperation... it's comical at this point.

It's her second week  and it would be such a landmark for ST to debut at #1

They don't deserve it. The same happened with TOP in 2018, they used Gaga's name to promote themselves and still ended up finishing in #2. I hope this happens again.

I'd be doing the same in their position, just a few memes - fair play to them

I suspect not. According to the Official Chart Rules a digital album has to be priced above £3.75 for it to qualify for the charts.

So dumb, they should have lowered the value to at least the minimum allowed to count for the chart. :tirren:

The Google Play 99p sales definitely do count to the chart. It's Google Play selling the downloads at a loss to try and increase market share, they did this for a lot of albums a few years back.

(also do you guys not remember 'Born This Way' being sold for 99c just saying xox)

That's the dealer price not the retail price

And what does OCC have to do with Google Play? These sales should not be accepted.

About Born This Way, the copies sold for 99 cents were Amazon's idea to promote Amazon Cloud (streaming service), in addition, Gaga/Interscope received every cent for the original value of each copy sold by them

The digital retailer used the album as a loss leader to promote their Cloud Drive storage service and paid Gaga’s label full wholesale price for each album sold.

Don't take advantage of the situation to release your poison.

That is... literally exactly what I just said Sports Team are doing??? Lmao. What I described is what 'loss leader' means.

I also forgot to mention that the 99 cent sales of Born This Way were only in the US, in the UK it was sold at normal price during debut, and there were no rules against that at the time, different from what this garage background band is doing right now.

Please point to the rule that's against Sports Team doing this in the UK right now xx
