Jonjo has taste!

Now HERE is a song which I can say...I was never fussed on. Until recently. In the run-up to Chromatica I listened to all of her albums again and this song FINALLY hit me :cheeseblock:

G.U.Y. already sounds slightly... odd amongst her other singles :lol: but I REALLY like it, always have! Deserved so much more than it got :(

G.U.Y has always been a massive favourite from ARTPOP! :wub: This deserved so much more, a career highlight for sure!

Fun fact, I've only seen this video once... when it premiered :') I need to rewatch soon! This song being her first to miss the top 75 (?) one of about 5 songs I can listen to from ARTPLOP. It was a great single choice, but how did it perform SO badly? Did it digital release get cancelled orrr...?

It got pretty crap support, and obviously just didn't connect massively :(

And now we leave ARTPOP behind and begin the Joanne era...to my least fave Gaga single :( I DO like it but it's very rare that I return to this tbh.

Perfect Illusion is an eternal bop!

 

That key change gives me life and the end is phenomenal!!!

Perfect Illusion feels like an odd moment looking back - not even making the top 10, then fast-forward to the success we're seeing now...! :o It's kinda easy to forget the Joanne era actually happened :lol: but I really like this! I don't especially like the video but the song, while not a huge Gaga highlight, is a tune.

I am skipping Perfect Illusion :kink:

Perfect Illusion definitely the weakest so far. It's a decent song, but not one I go back to often or that really hits in the same way other Gaga singles do.
