I know everyone here hates it but it's always been one my fave of hers.

I'm Not A Girl... is cute but inessential for me ~

 

Boys is one of her weaker singles.

 

Boys, sometimes a girl just needs one (you know I need you )

Boys, to love her and to hold (I just want you to touch me )

Boys, and when a girl is with one

Boys, then she's in control

 

Boys isn't a massive favourite in terms of her singles. I'm not familiar with the album version very much - I think I may actually prefer this? :lol:

I'm Not a Girl... is very cute sounding, it doesn't sound a million miles away from her first two albums - but there's obviously more depth to these lyrics than on some of her previous ballads. The overarching album subject matter of Britney trying to find her place in the world, striving for independence etc was so right for her at the time.

 

Boys - it's great, but as a single it's lower down in my affections. That's regarding the Co-Ed remix though. I can never definitively decide, but sometimes I feel like I actually prefer the album version! When the album was new, this wasn't a song I thought was screaming out to be a single.

For a long time 'Boys' was my least favourite Britney single. It just wasn't for me... but in the last couple of years or so, it's creeping up in my affections. I'd still say it wasn't a face, but the sass she has in this! Definitely gives me 'My Prerogative' vibes!

"Boys" is really good. I'm not sure if this and "I'm A Slave 4 U" weren't intended to be included in the album, but I'm glad they were because both of them stand out in my opinion. The Co-Ed Remix is great too.

Much like 'I'm Not A Girl...', 'Boys' isn't one I feel the need to listen to out of choice much and I rarely re-visit it these days but when I do listen to it, it sounds much better than I remember it being. There is much stronger on the album though :(

Anticipating brings the vibe up brilliantly *.* :dance: so feel good ~

"Anticipating", the song that deserved to not only be a French single. :snif: Everything about this is incredible in my opinion.

This is so Janet Jackson 'All For You' production wise.

'Anticipating' was one of the most instant album tracks from 'Britney' for me, still sounding delightful :heart:

This is definitely a lot more bubblegum pop than a lot of this album! It was initially an instant fave, but honestly, I go back to other tracks over this more now. But this still BOPS!

Anticipating is a great song! One of my faves on the album :wub:

Anticipating - a breezy bop, which sounds great at this time of year :music: One of the more bubblegum pop moments on this album. I honestly wouldn't have been against this being a properly released worldwide single instead of Boys and/or I Love Rock 'n' Roll.

The performance of this from the 'Dream Within A Dream' tour was a lot of fun!
