I do prefer the shots in the new versions but yeah it's all very samey :lol: Payday today so I think I'll get one of the alternative covers later and maybe a glitter cassette as well. No sign of a vinyl yet but hearing whispers about an Urban Outfitters one coming soon. I still haven't even received my 'Stuck With U' vinyl so probably for the best for those to be handled elsewhere :P (I know it's a wider issue but her merch team don't have the best track record anyway)

I might just end up buying the physical from HMV next week when I’ll more than likely get Little Mix as well.

 

I don’t so much mind the actual cover tbh I think it’s a really nice photo and she’s definitely had worse artwork!

 

Good tactic having cassettes alongside the CD though as that’ll mean two sales won’t it and then four sales if you get everything like all the covers and a cassette? I’m glad she’s put one up she should get some pre order sales now what will count to release week.

Just seen you can get the album off HMV so I’ve pre ordered it from there rather than from her store :wub:

I ended up getting positions 'exclusive cd two' and the glitter cassette! Also treated myself to the 'heaven sent you to me' t-shirt as I really like the picture on the back of it. So that takes the merch up to four items with the 'positions' CD single too! It's so great to be able to get all of this on the U.K. store rather than having extortionate shipping costs *.*

I bought "Exclusive cd cover one" (the one without her hands showing) and the white cassette (I already have silver glitter cassettes by Kylie and Louise, so I wanted something different on this occasion :heehee: )

I’ve listened to the album and am a bit disappointed. I didn’t think it would be like TUN, but I thought it would have a catchy rnb 90ss vibe from the lead single (which I love).

 

I won’t do a track by track mainly because I can’t remember what some of them sound like.

 

But I agree with the poster who said my hair is a vocal career highlight, the lyrics aren’t great but wow she suits that croony style so much and you can understand exactly what she’s saying - yey!

 

There are other songs I like the sound of a lot like 34 35, obvious, love language. But my main issue is the lyrics don’t elevate the music at all. Eg “are you down what’s up” x100. I don’t expect every pop star to be able to write like a poet but Ariana has the best voice in the game IMO and it’s used with basic and sometimes cringey lyrics.

 

Overall the album sounds like she was vibing in the studio through quarantine and scooter told her it was good enough to release as a whole album.

 

Hope this doesn’t come across as hate btw. I just think she needs new collaborators.

Interesting! I did think off titles alone that 34 + 35 would be a big streamer on release week. But If it’s on a capital playlist we could see it on streaming ones too. There was a rumour she’d filmed two music videos too maybe the other one was for that.

 

I’m dying to hear this! I have a link for it but I’ve not yet brought myself to hear it so I think I’ll actually wait until Friday now. Is it another 5am release?

Im imagining 34 + 35 will be a natural hit, I can imagine it being quite big on Tik tok.

I think the Doja Cat track will be quite popular... I mean as theres no touring allowed and we saw that Ariana gives up her albums on release week... I can't imagine much going forward for this one.

Interestingly, I was actually potentially thinking the opposite for this album and that the campaign would last longer post album release because of how quick the time span was from the album announcement, lead single drop and then the album itself.

 

The Sun have given the album 4 stars (out of 5) quite a positive review from them.

 

She’s on the cover today with a two page spread talking about the album and her journey over the last few years.

I can't believe this time tomorrow I would have already listened to this multiple times. Seriously considering staying up to 4am like I did for Sweetener seeming that I'm off tomorrow but I'm not sure I'd actually be able to stay awake for that long anymore.
