I'm not that familiar with AM or Amazon (lol I'm an AM user...) but they don't show the streams, correct? Only Spotify shows streams?

It often falls on Spotify but keeps the same numbers, or even better sometimes, so it's not always a bad thing if it drops in position (I mean it's not good but) as long as the streams are maintaining the same or higher then it's fine, right?

I can lowkey see the video for this being scrapped 😂

I don't think they'll scrap it, but I do think they'll release it and instantly move on. I think the video has severely hindered the entire Holiday campaign, so when it comes time for our autumn single with the Search I think they'll choose to go ahead as planned. If there's anything better than a Summer single it's a mid-tempo post-Summer song, which they always do well with (Secret Love Song, LMLY)

I hope I'm right lol I'm over Holiday having a massively successful run at this point.

They are hoping for it to be out at the end of the week, but there's major production issues the label are being difficult with due to never wanting to spend more than a certain amount on Little Mix.

It's totally ridiculous

After all these years and all the success they've had I don't get why the labels aren't willing to spend money on them as they obviously have the potential to do well and make more money. It makes no sense

Serious question but what boost do music videos even have if there's already a lyric video on YouTube and circulating the music channels anyway? I get that the official one will get more views and that will count towards streaming but in terms of visibility and promotion the song is already on radio and TV and the lyric video has been out for weeks.

Sometimes I wonder what the point is of wasting money on a lyric video that's only a placeholder for another video anyway. Why not just have the proper video ready so there's no need for a lyric one?

I think the Lyric then Official video works well, the lyric video is so the lyrics stick better...

Even subconsciously it helps the song stick in people’s minds..

The official video, I agree it doesn’t have much of an impact as they used too when music channels were so much bigger, but the official video does definitely have an impact. A decent video can make the song click with people, helps streaming, helps sales in general as the video gets shared on socials etc...

I’m still not sure delaying the video works for Little Mix though, I don’t know if it’s best for them to release the video the same day the song drops or hold out a couple of weeks...It’s a hard one.

Well going by that information I worry about the era as a whole.

If they’re skeptical about spending a lot too I don’t expect much from the video.

I don’t think the comment about the label wanting to spend money is 100% true. Miley recently stated that in a video she had to put her own money into it because the label wasn’t prepared to spend the amount needed to create her vision.

Music videos just don’t have the same impact now, So it’s just not worth spending thousands and thousands on them.

Lady GaGa for example used to spend hundreds of thousands on her music video’s back in the day which definitely helped her but it was rumoured the actual songs did not make enough to even pay back those costs.

They clearly aren’t opposed to spending money with the Quiz, that definitely had a budget...

Also Little Mix have their own company account, so I’m sure profits get split between that account and the label.

The brand deals for instance it could be the label only take a small percentage if Little Mix’s management and their own company get the brand deal...

Whereas some artists are completely owned by their label and management.

Also, Little Mix are 9 years into it all. Australian tour was cancelled because of poor ticket sales, the last album did well but clearly was nowhere near as popular as Glory Days. Remember they are a band too so the profit gets split 4 ways, management fee’s, production costs, songwriters...(It costs a lot! Not to mention an entire cancelled summer tour).

It’s easy to say the label aren’t putting enough in but the girls do actually need to maximise profit, so it would be pretty useless to spend another few thousand on a video that won’t actually help the song much at all.

I say, ditch this video, then work on the release that coincides with The Search.

I think ditching this video wouldn’t work in their favour as they’ve hyped this video for weeks.

Also I don’t get from a label perspective why they would want to spend money on that quiz that did absolutely nothing for them and not on more relevant stuff. Not even necessarily the video but promo stuff.

Where have they hyped the video? They mentioned it weeks ago and nothing since...

The quiz was a good idea, interaction and a bit of excitement for fans as we haven't seen much of the girls together but it was a disaster, Perrie and Leigh quarantined, Jesy stuck in traffic and it just turned into a mess...

You can't always buy promo, Plus they had the Compare the Market event which was highly advertised on primetime TV with adverts, they Paid influencers on TikTok and Insta to promote it with Holiday in the background (Video's of them waking up, getting ready and clicking on the TV to view the concert etc)

Massive Instagram, TikTok and Youtube ads promoting the event...

Plus there's not much on at the moment that they could perform on..

I think the label keeps being bashed but I actually think they do pretty well handling everything.

The Search will work wonders for them I'm sure especially if they perform everynight.

I feel like the girls sometimes overshoot their concept for videos.. they never really work anyway. Look at Touch, the cheap-ish effects and aesthetic actually heightened the video quality for a lot of people, it was a 90s throwback, unintentionally, but it worked and a lot of people enjoyed the video.

This whole concept of mermaids and stuff for the Holiday video sounds... too much, especially when there's budget issues because I can't imagine that CGI is cheap. They should lead with choreo-based videos, where they don't need to pay out a whole lot of money. They could've easily been poolside and done a choreo/personality video, rather than a concept that probably isn't going to be that great anyway. Nothing more cringe than cheap CGI/make-up/costumes. Just get a strong routine together, a location that fits, and a few cute outfit changes. One of my favourite things about KPOP Groups is that their videos always look expensive but probably aren't due to it just being on-location/choreo. I wish they did more of that. Move is my favourite video of theirs, they had fun and danced and had different costumes, it doesn't always need to be so.. confusing.

Wasn’t all that Compare the Market promo down to the own company though? I have a hard time believing it was RCA who promoted the concert and not the company since the girls haven’t posted that much about it on the group profile and they were hired.

Regarding the video even if they just mentioned it in interviews they’d always say it was one of their favourites, that they shot as mermaids etc, I think the fanbase would be terribly disappointed and things like that (messy campaigns) sometimes cost them fans.

Yeah it was all compare the Market but they must of got that deal.

I just think it’s easy to say they aren’t doing enough etc, but the label are still doing more for LM than they do some artists.

I agree, it’s annoying but we’re so far down the line now 5 weeks nearly since the release I think all hype has gone now anyway,

Down 1 to 33 on Spotify

If this one gets a silver certification, I will be pleased

Then hopefully they perform it on the search and it gets a boost

Such a shame about the video taking so long. This could of definitely went top 10 if they timed everything properly.

Holiday isn't my favourite song anyway BUS was so much better...

It's done well actually being in the top 20 for 3 weeks (Hopefully) as it's definitely not as instant.

Am i right in thinking the next single is the one that was going to be the lead?
