it's funny how Joel Corry and Nathan Dawe started in the same way, with their first top 40 hit being a cover of a garage classic from 2000 (Sorry / Flowers)

and then going much bigger after that

Something a bit weird continuing to go on with StaySolidRocky - it's back to listing it as the solo version by default in the UK top 50 playlist and has a significant drop from yesterday so it looks like it's been uncombined, but the total playcounts for the solo version and the remix still show as the same on the Spotify app, although there is a separate total for the remix's single release (it's only the same for the two tracks on his EP). I also notice there have been 2 versions of the song in the top 200 in the US for a few days now, though they were both tagged as the remix until today, when the higher one is now back to showing as the solo version while the lower one is still the remix. Dircadirca help, what is going on xx

In slightly more relevant news, a bit gutted at 'cardigan' falling well behind 'Lighter' today, really hoping it can still hang onto #4 for this week but guessing it's very likely Nathan will overtake now. :(

I think Rush knows and can explain this stuff better than me, I'm not sure I've ever seen inconsistent labeling across different countries like this. Like maybe it's some database mess and the original is linked to the EP version of the track and not the single version (and so the logical oddity is the result of coding throwing out unexpected results for unexpected input). I'd be curious if anyone can recall which version played when "Party Girl (Remix)" was streamed on one of the top 50 playlists, because my main takeaway tonight was that it only lost 15K spins in Australia on this split, the vast majority of that would just be curiousity/shuffle streams from being on the top 50 (unless the original still played?), leaving an absurdly small pittance for those actually listening to the remix.

Maybe the last push of the new version and streaming from it will move it to 4.

Jason Derulo is on the cover on local TTH here and his new song is doing absolutely nothing. He has quite a long way to go for a proper chart comeback I think.

He literally just got knocked off a three week spot at number one and is about to crack the top 10 on Billboard.

Great to see Paul Woolford quickly rising in the top 40, big shame he's lagging so much on Spotify but at least has a new peak for the day there.

Nathan Dawe and KSI moving up steadily on both Spotify and Apple Music and they're still No.1 on iTunes - could it be a possible No.1 in a couple of weeks?
If Joel is doing 560 plus on a Wednesday can see him being no1 for 4-6 weeks at least unless another big hit comes out!

If Nathan Dawe is following the same career path as Joel Corry then hopefully he'll also follow suit in his third chart hit actually being good... lol ~

 

('Lighter' is a lot better than 'Flowers' and preferable to both of Joel's first two hits tbf but it's still not great)
