Thank you :wub: Next week it's 'Femme Fatale'! Not Sunday, Monday or Tuesday though, coz I am working until 9 :') I can do this coming Friday, Saturday or next Wed/Thurs! July 8, 20205 yr Quicksand was of course highly worthy of being included on the standard track list too. Obviously this song fell into Britney's lap when Lady Gaga wasn't quite making major waves yet. The thought of relegating a track like this - written by someone who a year later would be the biggest thing in music - to iTunes bonus (Europe only)... As you can all tell, these region exclusive bonuses really bother me :rofl: 1. Womanizer 2. Circus 3. If U Seek Amy 4. Amnesia 5. Unusual You 6. Trouble 7. Quicksand 8. Mannequin 9. Phonography 10. Lace and Leather 11. Out from Under 12. Blur 13. Shattered Glass 14. Rock Me In 15. Kill the Lights 16. Rock Boy 17. Mmm Papi 18. My Baby I didn't anticipate this order! I do like Kill the Lights, and 15th place looks quite harsh for it. I do think there are numerous worthy bops that could have easily taken its place as track 4 on the album though. I don't begrudge Kill the Lights being on the standard though. If I had created the track list, I would have had my Top 15 tracks there as a standard album. 16/17/18 could have been on the deluxe. In an ideal world Radar would have remained exclusively as a Blackout track and actually have been the 4th single from that album instead.
July 9, 20205 yr Sad that I missed this because of time zones, but these are my thoughts towards the album. • "Womanizer": Infectious. The production is amazing and those sirens throughout it are clever. • "Circus": There's only two types of people in the world / The ones that entertain and the ones that observe. That part is amazing, as well as the pre-chorus and the breakdown. It's not one of the songs that I revisit a lot, but it's great to listen to it once a while. The sound effects during the last choruses are perfect. • "Out From Under": I remember I liked it when the album came out, but I find it very cheesy nowadays. The vocals are cute and the bridge is really good. • "Kill The Lights": This is really good and it could have been easily included in Blackout. I associate this as Danja's version of "Piece of Me" if it's considered that the latter was produced by Bloodshy & Avant. • "Shattered Glass": Pre-chorus and chorus are fire. The glass-e-ass part seems a little bit obnoxious, but it's tolerable though. • "If U Seek Amy": Double-entendre in its best. The chorus is really good, as well as the la, la, la, la, la-la, la, la parts. This reminds me a lot to "Can't Get You Out Of My Head". • "Unusual You": The clear missed opportunity. This is hands down amazing and this could have been a great fourth single instead of "Radar". Everything about this (vocals and production) is great and there's emotion from Britney as well in the lyrics too. • "Blur": The censorship isn't that good and there should have been an explicit version of the song to be honest. I don't know why, but this reminds me to (a mature?) "Early Mornin'" if that makes sense. • "Mmm Papi": Pass. The song is very tongue-in-cheek and carefree, but I don't like it. Now see, I'm mommy, and that makes you papi / And that makes us luvi. NO! • "Mannequin": Amazing. The production is ace. If it's considered that Britney rehearsed this, I'm wondering if there were plans to release this as the lead single instead of "Womanizer". Anyway, this should have been a great single too (instead of "Radar", of course). • "Lace and Leather": The chorus is so good. This seems to be a mature bumblegum pop song. • "My Baby": I get the message about the track to be to her sons and the idea of this seems to be like "Someday (I Will Understand)" part 2, but it's not as good as the aforementioned. • "Radar": This is still great, but it wasn't necessary to be included again as a bonus track and to be released as a single. I also think it doesn't fit at all in Circus. • "Rock Me In": This is cool. The production is good as well and this reminds me to "Heaven On Earth" in a sort of way, probably because of Nicole Morier. • "Phonography": Go! This was produced by Bloodshy & Avant and The Clutch (the same team behind "Radar"), so... hey! This could have made onto the album. • "Rock Boy": It's been a long time since I listen to this, but it's good. It's a cool bonus track. • "Amnesia": Perfect. Why was this only a selected bonus track? :( This is amazing and it still baffles me to date that. Sigh! This should have been a single and Fernando Garibay should have worked in a lot more tracks with Britney. Also, why is it georestricted on Spotify? Team Britney is losing my streams to this song. • "Trouble": This is really good and it's a strong bonus track, which could have easily made into the album. Also, like "Phonography", this was produced by Bloodshy & Avant and The Clutch. • "Quicksand": This is great and Lady Gaga did that. The fact that this was also a selected bonus track is sad. Why isn't this on Spotify? Team Britney is losing my streams to this song. [2] Circus has a lot of great bonus tracks, which they could have easily made into the final tracklisting in my opinion.
