After the very successful listening parties held in other Artist Forums, where last week we had the girls imperial phase as we listened and discussed 'Glory Days', in it's entirety! It was a LOT of fun. This week it's the final listening party, however, once their 6th album is released, during release week at some point, I would very much like to do this if you're all interested in doing so! :wub: For now we're listening to LM5 on Tuesday 14th July, which was the album which spawned the hits 'Only You', 'Woman Like Me' & 'Think About Us', but also has fan favourites in 'Wasabi', 'The Cure' & 'Forget You Not'. So come and join us for some Little Mix joy!

 

Here's how it works.. we all listen separately, but at 8pm (BST) we hit play at the same time so that we are in sync and can discuss the tracks on time with each other and we can experience the albums together.

I really like The National Manthem as an intro. Really cute.

Not going to rank 'The National Anthem' as it's merely an intro but it's a lovely opener!

The National Manthem is indeed a really cute intro! I wish it was a full song though. I think they could have made it work!

 

I still love 'Woman Like Me'! It gets unfairly treated I think. It's a banger! The video is one of their VERY best (although I am always gutted that the chairography is not featured a lot </3) and we have the ICONIC BRITs performance :wub:

Woman Like Me took a couple of weeks to hit me but once it did I really loved it. Ended up at #6 in my EOY chart iirc. I might be in a minority but I don't mind the Nicki verse either.

 

A gif of Jade from the video was my signature for quite a while.

There is stronger material elsewhere on the album but I find this underrated on here! The video in particular is one of their very best :wub:

03: THINK ABOUT US

 

I really like Think About Us but I think it's one of their weaker singles. There are a couple of tracks here I would have liked to have made singles before it.

 

I'm still disappointed it didn't do better officially :( That delay with the video didn't help :lol:

I'm not huge on this :( it's so generic and the drop is quite off-putting. I wanted 'Strip' or 'Wasabi' as the 2nd single, but slightly came around to this just because I thought it'd be a surefire hit for them... but it ended up stalling outside of the top 20 :drama:

Think About Us is one of those songs that I know is generic af, but I can't help but bop to it. I still think, had the label situation not happened, this would've made a great 4th/5th single (had they gone with 'Strip' - as originally intended - as the 2nd single & hopefully 'Wasabi' would have been 3rd). Their BRITs Are Coming performance S L A Y S!

LOVE this! Another throwing the rulebook out the window moment for them just like 'Move'. Such an important message too :wub:

Strip is a really different sound from them. Sharaya J's verse is pretty good and the video's cool.

 

It's a shame they lost confidence with it after it didn't do bad originally.

This is infectious. It's extremely endearing, whilst not having all too much going on. It really works and drives home the message a whole lot more, imo. It was never an initial favourite, but I really appreciate this and I completely understand why the girls wanted to push this as the 2nd single, I think it would have smashed so hard!
