Debuts at Number 80 here in Ireland, im disappointed with that as i was hoping for an Irish Top 40 for her.

Dont sneer at it, as it is her highest charting since Reason apparently!

#27 on German charts.

Version of Me was #34

27 in Germany is quite good, isn't it? She was massive there during First Day... and the Beautiful Intentions era, but that's also a while ago, she still making top 30 is pretty nice to see.

In Belgium:

- Top: 132 (V)

- Top: 181 (W)

Think so! It's a traditionally tough one to crack

Is that any good?

Is that any good?

I honestly doubt so.. Belgium is quite a small country, so this is probably like 50 copies tbh.

Yeh, posting international peaks is fine! I'm dying to say something about the UK :kink: :arrr:

Fabulous to see her listeners shoot up to over 1.1m!

#80 is quite a bit lower than I expected in Ireland... but I guess quite a few of her fans there would have ordered from Melanie's official store? Maybe those wouldn't count to the Irish chart?

That would make sense as the sales wouldnt have counted to the Irish chart.

No spoilers, but it seems the trend is good. This time (buy This Time!) she put all efforts in the UK, mostly. I’m sure she’s gonna promote the record around the world whenever allowed and like with VOM she’ll get some top10s in different countries. The album is her best to date and has lots of potential IMO.

I don't understand why they wouldn't have counted towards the Irish chart? All the other sales to other countries do don't they?

Each country's chart only counts the sales that are bought within that country. So anyone abroad who ordered 'Melanie C' from her official store, those sales don't actually count towards any chart. I wondered whether Melanie's official store might include Ireland too, but judging by #80, it seems not.

The positions achieved in other country's so far will be from sales made in that country's high street music stores or online stores, so the #27 in Germany will have been sales from sites such as Amazon.de and Saturn.de.

Countries like Belgium, I guess those low positions are mainly a result of a few iTunes sales and streams. If she has many Belgian fans, I assume they'd have ordered physicals from the official store. Therefore they didn't contribute to their own country's chart.

Omg that is so rubbish... and ridiculous! So they are essentially lost sales! :o I'm sure quite a few German fans likely ordered copies of the vinyls, cassettes etc not available in other countries which should be contributed to Germany's chart.

I'm so happy for her... and us, the fans *.*

It's been 17 and a half years since Reason reached #5 and became her last Top 10 album. Over the years I never even entertained the idea of Melanie C ever achieving another Top 10 again, particularly when she had three albums in a row miss the Top 40. It seemed beyond her capabilities as an independent artist. So this is really fantastic! #8 is a great position; it's nice that she's nicely within the Top 10 and it wasn't a close call at #10.

This is also the first solo Spice Top 10 album since Emma's Free Me in February 2004! 16 and a half years ago!

Wow fantastic achievement to get another top 10, 17 years after the last, never would have thought a solo spice record would manage that in 2020
Congrats to her and Geri that inspired the album cover. Is this her fourth best opening in terms sales?

Is this her fourth best opening in terms sales?

It is indeed! Behind Reason (30,876), Northern Star (17,773) and Beautiful Intentions (8,970).

Kind of funny to think that Beautiful Intentions achieved those sales with just one CD. Times have certainly changed, with all the different formats put on sale these days!

First and only Spice Girl to have 3 Top 10 albums in the UK

Melanie C also has a Top 10 album in the 90s, 00s and 20s

YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS :w00t:

I am so happy for her. This is an amazing achievement, especially also seeing how decent the sales are compared to the opening weeks of most of her other albums. Ofcourse the UK charts have changed a lot (and it's sad to see 7k gets you to #8 in a busy week), but just really good. Also press-wise, to say she got a top 10 album.
