A social media advert made with clips from the 3 videos (I'm ignoring Fearless) with the tag 'the brilliant new top 10 album from Melanie C' that she could put on twitter and social media and get her fans to share.

 

The whole point of being top 10 is it being a vehicle to promote and sell the album to non fans otherwise what is the point. She might as well have had 1 cd again and 1 video and saved her money charted at 30 and spent a fraction of the cash she has.

I'd re-download the deluxe if she put it on iTunes. Also if she reduces the black standard vinyl I'll grab a copy of that too, that's 2 sales already I'm sure lots of other fans would do the same, plus the added attraction of casual shoppers would boost it's sales and hopefully avoid such a sharp decline.

Deluxe on streaming sites is a must too.

I agree with Sammy. Mel needs to do something. She’s not even posting on Social Media, lazy social Spice. 😂

She doesn't need to use all her ammunition at once. She can save the inevitable price reduction for a later stage in the album campaign.

Like this project is about revenue haha. I mean no record label would have spent out on 4 videos for an album likely to go 8-105-192-Out.

 

We all like to say it benefitted Emma releasing on a record label but there is no way BMG spent anywhere near what Mel C has on this album. That isn't knocking Mel C, she clearly invested that money from SW19 into her solo career but it is obvious this era isn't about making a profit but getting that top 10, building her profile and self satisfaction.

Its def not a money making project and we knew it would be more or less a 1 week wonder album which is the case for any solo spice album. I think the aim was top 10 and profile building and it def done the job there. Mel is very lucky that she has the money to invest in her solo career and its prob one of things that helped make her decision on the spice girls reuniting. Not every artist is in the same financial situation as her.

 

Unfortunately missed the top 100 here in The Netherlands, not surprising as she didn't make the album charts since BI (and that only made #98 before dropping out the next week).

The issue is that "saving" it would only be worth it if she was the type of artist whose albums charted for weeks. It's always harder to get an album to re-chart once it's left the charts than it is to keep it charting.

 

Not to mention you want supermarkets to keep stocking it which they won't if the album bombs out the top 200 in 3 weeks.

Another interesting info. Melanie C has now 7 top10 albums (3 on her own and 4 with the Spice Girls), Geri and Victoria have 5, Emma 6, and Mel B 4.

I'm glad she has the lead now and happy with emma second.
