Posted August 6, 20204 yr Hi all, I have found a website that has many full recordings of the 3 hour chart show on BBC Radio 1 from the 80s and 90s and they can be played back from the site. It might be cool if we replayed a chart and discuss it as we're listening. 3 hours is a bit much to commit to so perhaps just the top 20. I guess there would need to be more than just a few of us to make the discussion worth while. Feel free to comment. Colm Edited August 6, 20204 yr by Colm
August 6, 20204 yr Mixcloud? *.* I'm listening to a 2010 chart on there as we speak  I'd be interested in this idea, moreso 90s!
August 6, 20204 yr Author Yep - Mixcloud. I'm listening to a 1992 one at the moment. Songs fell so sharply back then. edit - I kinda assumed it we would be doing some from the 90s but it might be interesting discussing a chart with lots of songs that some of us never heard of because they never get played any more Edited August 6, 20204 yr by Colm
August 6, 20204 yr I've been listening to a lot of the retro charts on there during lockdown.. More so the 2000's but it's really interesting hearing how fast paced the charts were then. I just listened to 91 chart on Monday where Bryan Adams historic reign ended *.*
August 6, 20204 yr Author I listened to the weekly chart between 1987 and 1993. After that I was always travelling to college on Sunday evenings so my listening was disrupted. I like re-discovering songs I had forgotten about. Edited August 6, 20204 yr by Colm
August 6, 20204 yr I'd be up for doing joint Retro chart shows listenthroughs on let's say a Sunday afternoon/evening if there is enough interest and a discussion thread, 90s and 00s moreso than 80s for me though.

August 6, 20204 yr Yeh same here I'm happy with the majority it wouldn't mind the 80s too, so many songs in those charts you know and don't release it and you hear samples from modern dance songs all the time.
August 6, 20204 yr Author Ok, let's go for Sunday 9th August at 17:00 GMT Probably going to go for one from the early 90s. Edited August 7, 20204 yr by Colm
August 7, 20204 yr Author 11 Sept 1994 (3 hours) 13 June 1993 (3 hours) 15 March 1992 (3 hours) 16 Sept 1990 (2 hours) 25 July 1999 (3 hours) 12 March 1995 (3 hours) Is there any of those that you guys have listened to, recently? Edited August 7, 20204 yr by Colm
August 7, 20204 yr I'm sure I'll have listened to them all at the time but I've never revisited any of them.
August 9, 20204 yr Author I'm also going to find a retro chart thread in the main forum and post in there about what we're doing.
August 11, 20204 yr Author It didn't happen. There were no responses on Sunday. Edited August 11, 20204 yr by Colm
