Pep Guardiola has signed a new two-year deal that will see him remain as Manchester City manager until the summer of 2023.

Awaiting Messi signing for 2 years in Summer 2021..

He's obviously been promised something for him not to be moving on.

I still don't buy the Spurs title talk. The same way that people were talking up Villa/Everton 3-4 weeks ago - there is no way they can sustain the performance playing in Europa League too. I'm glad they beat City today, City have a really good run of fixtures coming up and it stops them from putting together a better run

Much needed win for Brighton over Aston Villa. Certainty not 'title contender' form which was being considered a few weeks ago about Villa.

Can't see Tottenham maintaining a title challenge throughout the season.

Let's be fair you can't really make a case for any team to be favourites this year at the moment, which is the beauty of it all.

We can start calling Man Utd, Varchester Utd though now :D

Well it is certainly some game between Fulham and Everton in the live lunchtime BBC game.

The penalty award was harsh as the West Brom player was looking away from the ball when it hit his hand but I have no sympathy for the penalty having to get retaken as the same thing happened to David De Gea against Crystal Palace so that is just too bad for West Brom.

That penalty from Cavaliero was even worse than Lookman's penalty.

Tavanier did exactly the same for Middlesborough yday and he scored so it was disallowed!

Think I was more annoyed by the West Brom one that wasn’t given

It looks like Sheffield United are the team that are struggling most with not having fans in the stadium as they were on good form up until the season got suspended last season and from the restart onwards they've been dreadful. They still only have 1 point so far this season after losing to West Ham today.

It rightly should have been re-taken. But there was a foul in the build up and West Brom's penalty should have stood too  VAR is just sucking the life out of football. E.g. I genuinely have no idea how Calvert-Lewin's goal stood today yet Mane's was offside? It's ridiculous.

How good is Jota btw?! I knew he was going to be a great player, but I did not expect him to fit in so seamlessly. He is like a Suarez lite from the 2011-2012 season only more clinical!

Only concern is yet another injury for Liverpool. That is going to be the breaking point for us this year. I do wonder if the bigger managers start piling the pressure on we might see a few changes.. we can hope.

Yeah I'll have to take back my previous comment on Jota, rather than looking like a rip-off he's turning into a bargain. Never looked anything more than average at Wolves so gotta hand it to Jurgen for turning another mediocre player into a world-beater.
