"Welcome to My Truth" is a song taken from her third studio album, Anastacia. It released as the album's third single in Europe on November 8, 2004, the song chronicles Anastacia's strained relationship with her father, who left her at a young age, along with the singer's battle with breast cancer. While "Welcome to My Truth" failed to match overall the success of its predecessors, "Left Outside Alone" and "Sick and Tired", it fared relatively well in certain European nations, such as Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain.

And Top 5 we start with her lead single and Go Girl anthem 'Paid My Dues', taken from her second album 'Freak Of Nature'. The song became a hit, reaching number one in Denmark, Hungary, Italy, Norway, and Switzerland as well as the top ten in several other mainland European countries with exception in UK where it debuted and peaked #14.

And now moving on to 'One Day In Your Life' released as a second single from her second album 'Freak Of Nature'. Co-written with and produced by Sam Watters and Louis Biancaniello, the same people who also did 'I'm Outta Love', hence why it follows the same formula:kink:. It was also the only single released in the United States from the album, though it never charted on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, it earned Anastacia her first chart-topper on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart, staying atop for one week. The single fared far better elsewhere, charting within the top ten in Australia and several European countries, including Austria, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, while peaking at number eleven on the UK Singles Chart.

Now moving on to where it all started for Anastacia :wub:. Following a short-living dancing career on television shows such as MTV's Club MTV and work as a backup dancer in music videos, including rap group Salt-N-Pepa's clip for "Get Up Everybody (Get Up)", in 1993, Anastacia relocated from New York to Los Angeles in hopes of launching a singing career. Soon after, she signed a production deal with Cece Peniston manager O.G. Pearce, but failed to arrange a recording contract. In 1997, Anastacia met San Diego-based music executive Lisa Braudé, who signed her with Braudé Management and encouraged her to join MTV's The Cut, a talent series for unsigned acts, the following year. Her appearance on the show led to a meeting with Epic Records A&R executive David Massey who offered a recording contract with his own label Daylight, a custom label of Sony Music Entertainment's Epic company, in March 1999.

For the sound of her debut album Not That Kind, Anastacia envisioned "something in a funky, Sly and the Family Stone" style. While Massey felt that it would be hard to find a song that stood up to her massive voice, he consulted Sam Watters from Epic's R&B group Color Me Badd to work on "a great song for a big voice, kind of "I Will Survive" but with a little more substance." Within three or four days, Watters presented a demo of "I'm Outta Love" in its earliest form. After listening to the demo, Anastacia agreed to further work on it alongside Watters and co-producer Louis Biancaniello.[2] In an interview discussing the development of the song, Anastacia revealed that they had adopted Massey's approach while writing it, aiming for a song "like "It's Raining Men" and "I Will Survive", one that makes you move and makes you happy. Answering a question on British music show Later... with Jools Holland regarding if this song was about anybody in particular, Anastacia later replied, "It's about a lot of people in particular, not just one but probably many in my life who I wanted to have a love thing with but it wasn't there."

"Sick and Tired" is a second single taken from her third studio album, Anastacia. It was releades on July 19, 2004 in Europe to positive reception from music critics. The single charted inside the top five in many countries, including Austria, Denmark, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. "Sick and Tired" samples the song "Let the Music Play" by Shamur. Who knew!!!

And now the champion of this rate. 'Left Outside Alone' got ten 11's, eight 10's and one 9 :snif:. It was always going to be the winner since it is her strongest single in her discography.

"Left Outside Alone" was Written primarily by Anastacia detailing the singer's strained relationship with her estranged father. The song was released as the album's lead single on March 15, 2004, to both critical and commercial success. The song peaked at number one in Australia, Austria, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland; number two in Denmark, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Norway; and number three in the United Kingdom and Hungary, while overall it became the sixth-biggest-selling European single of 2004.
The track received universal acclaim, with praise coming from Anastacia's new musical sound as well as her new singing sound found in the opening of the song being compared to Evanescence's Amy Lee.

Left Outside Alone is such a perfect song. Anastacia is very underrated in general. Thanks for the rate.

I did mention in our group chat about an Anastacia rate and turns out it's already been done lol. Be interesting to see how 'Stupid Little Things' would have fared if it extended into the 2010's :thinking:

 

That's a typical but strong top 6 there. I do enjoy 'Cowboys and Kisses' by her too so would've liked that a couple of places higher.

I’d be up for an Anastacia survivor like the Scissor Sisters one! Include her post 2000s output in that too, plus it’s been 3 years!

Where was 'Everything Burns' her collaboration with Ben Moody back in 2005?

She did a duet with Ben Moody? That's something I missed back then.

The single release was cancelled in the UK so it didn’t chart. Everything Burns for the Fantastic Four movie. I always wonder if she’d have retained a little more interest and relevance if it had gone ahead as Pieces Of A Dream missed the top 40 later that year.
