Just glad Wycombe didn't finish bottom of the table. Ainsworth mentioned that as a challenge for his team.

Sheffield Wednesday have gone. Part of me hoped for a Steel City derby next season.

Norwich are the yo-yo team between here and the Premier League, Rotherham seem to be the team between here and League One.

Yeh Wycombe ending up 22nd is an incredible achievement as they basically have a league two budget. Just hope they don’t go the way of Yeovil now after being relegated.

It’s fascinating to see how the second Farke Norwich team will do, will they fail as they aren’t pragmatic enough like the Burnley’s of this world or will they have learned to play the nice football and make it effective.

wycombe based upon last 10 games would have been in the promotion battle 17 points!

I'd say they already have. This is a far better Norwich side than were promoted last time around. The young players are better and they conceded 21 fewer goals than last time they won the league.

I was more invested in that Derby - Sheff Wed game than any other game this season I think. Shame about the result, seeing Derby in League 1 would be hilarious and fully deserved. All three of the teams that went down could and perhaps should have survived - Sheff W got more points, Wycombe had a hell of a season and had some rotten luck especially early on, and Rotherham were such a good high intensity team until they had to start playing twice as often as everyone else.

Yeh true but the premier league is a different kettle of fish. As you say they have the experience and will hopefully learn from it. I do think extending the loan for Skipp or buying him from Spurs is a huge moment in terms of their defencsive stability.

Agreed about the Derby game earlier I don’t support either but wanted derby down partly because of Rooney and the way they are run. Plus they are the biggest club out of them maybe even with Wednesday but they had a points deduction.

The Wycombe journey was so special, everyone had them down to be miles cut off (including me) but they did incredibly well. Ainsworth has built a really good side there. I'd have liked to see Derby go down too. It still amazes me they hired Rooney as manager! There are some players who are just not cut out to be managers and Rooney is one of those.

Whose going up from the play-offs then? I'd love to see Barnsley up! Can just imagine the likes of Pogba, Salah and De Bruyne going there, they'd love it. Failing that though, it's got to be Brentford for me. Agreed about Norwich too, they look incredibly more stable, but I do wonder if someone might pick up Buendia in the summer. He didn't perform anywhere near his potential last time in the Prem, so it will be good to see him back.

Yeh Buendia is a great wee technician - super player!

Would like Brentford vs Barnsley in the final, still probably would like Brentford overall as they’ve never been in the top tier since the 1940s was its debut have been knocking on the door in recent years. But Barnsley would be a shock considering the budget etc even though Redfern & Wilson did incredible to get them there 20 years ago. Valerien has done a amazing job there since coming in - Tike the player from the MLS they brought in looks an unreal player!

We also know who's playing who in the play-offs now.

Brentford v Bournemouth

Swansea v Barnsley

I hope it will be a Brentford Vs Barnsley play off final, I would prefer to see Brentford get promoted but I wouldn't mind if it was either of those teams as Barnsley have only been in the Premier League once which was in the 1997/98 season. It's good when new or unusual teams get promoted as it freshens the league up and for players and fans that would normally be the opportunity to visit a new stadium and it's something different visually on TV as well. May 29th is going to be quite a stacked day football wise, definitely a day to be a couch potato
Hoping for a Brentford vs Barnsley final too! Be great to see one of those two teams in the Premier League next season.
I hope it’s not Barnsley that get promoted after what they did to Wigan last year :puke:

What did they do to them!?

Derby County are set to find out that they have lost a battle with the English Football League over the Championship club's accounting policies.

The Rams were cleared of breaching Financial Fair Play rules last year.

However, the EFL appealed against the decision to an independent tribunal and it is understood to have won its case, which centres around how new signings are accounted for.

An announcement is expected soon.

Brentford have lost the 1st leg of their play off semi final against Bournemouth 1-0 and Barnsley are currently losing to Swansea by the same score. Not what I hoped to see at all!
Yes, Brentford have home advantage in the second leg which gives me hope for one half of the equation. Still hoping for Brentford to go up here.
