'Mood' seemed to be stalling at 40-60k behind 'WAP' for the last week but suddenly closed nearly that entire gap today - definitely has a good chance of hitting #1 on Spotify some time this week and might challenge for overall #1 next week?

Kind of nitpicking but I would say that 'Mood' and 'Savage Love (Laxed - Siren Beat)' (especially the latter) are both pop more than anything else. Wikipedia actually categorises 'Mood' as pop-punk which I think is a bit of a stretch.

 

Actually yes I agree they are pop, though the production of them makes me mentally put them in the same category as everything else.

 

I just miss real singers who do traditionally structured timeless pop songs.. the sort of thing that would work lyrically and musically with just a piano or guitar I mean. There's a few of them in the top 40 but they're increasingly in the minority.

Additionally to Corrinne Bailey Rae coming back at #165 due to TikTok we've now got another 00s track getting a TikTok renaissance - Arctic Monkeys album track '505' is in at #187 (won't be tracking further due to its age).

Just checked Hot Hits for the first time in a while - 14 of the first 25 tracks are on ACR :lol:

I decided to do some analysis. Basically I checked when songs from the playlist peaked on the Official Chart. If the song has spent more than one week at its peak position then its peak date was when it was at that position for the last time. And it turns out that:

40% of the songs from Hot Hits UK peaked on the Official Chart at least 6 weeks ago

25% of the songs peaked at least 2 months ago

So sad to see Lasting Lover going to the wrong direction on Spotify. :( At least, it's still top 25 on Apple.

It's not been included in the Spotify updates but I notice one of the tracks from the initially largely ignored deluxe version of Pop Smoke's album ('Hello' w/ A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie) has been belatedly taking off over the last couple of weeks, up to a new peak of #111 today. A way to go for it to make the official chart though when 'The Woo' is still in the top 50 even on ACR (and it is also still behind 'Dior' & 3 other tracks from the original album that have also still not had their chance to make the top 100 - 'Got It On Me', the best song on the album, is the highest of those 3, I really hope it can eventually make an appearance somehow but not looking likely if it's currently still behind 'The Woo').
I think Dior will be on ACR. Even though it got reset when the album initially dropped I assume it’s decline 3 times since then. Otherwise I imagine it would be charting officially instead of The Woo

Dior is indeed on ACR.

Oh yes 'Dior' is on ACR, I just meant the next 3 songs aren't as none of them have appeared in the top 100 at all yet.
