BIGGEST UK HIT: SIGNAL FIRE (#4, 2007)

Daft Punk, they have never disappointed,

oh, I really dont agree on Daft Punk. They disappointed with Human After All and Tron. Tron had a few amazing things but ended up being kinda dull.

NO 50- MANIC STREET PREACHERS- 79 POINTS

Woulda got 30 from me.

I had the Chemical Brothers on my "still to come" list but completely forgot about Snow Patrol and Wham! Three good bands there but I must admit I find Snow Patrol mostly a bit dull aside from a handful of singles like 'Chocolate' and of course the amazing 'Run'. 'Chasing Cars' was great at the time but is completely over-played by this point, and I still don't really get how it took on the life that it did!

Set The Fire to the Third Bar

I like the verse from Run but not the chorus.

Chasing Cars, Run, Hands Open

The Chemical Brothers were another group who very nearly made my votes so I'm really glad to see them so high - assuming The Stone Roses didn't make it, that just leaves The Verve from groups I'm rooting for that didn't make my 30.

Good to see the Chemical Brothers in the top 50.

I didn't think of either Wham or Snow Patrol when I was trying to figure out who was left yesterday. Chasing Cars and Run are both great songs but I have never felt inclined to listen to a whole album by Snow Patrol. However, when I discovered that they had recorded a 16 minute song, The Lightning Strike, I had to check it out and I like that one as well.

George Michael really had perfect white teeth in the 80s really or photoshop did a good job in that picture?

Me and Bjork voting for the same group (Snow Patrol) :o  Even overplayed Chasing Cars is still one of my fave songs of all time.

Chemical Brothers never were one of my favorite dance groups.

Before results started coming in, I was thinking it would be something like almost 50 percent each one for Indie Rock and Pop groups and just a few dance groups. However, it is something like 90 percent of Indie Rock groups so far. Hopefully, I think we will have a good amount of pop groups in the top 30 like One Direction, Steps, S Club 7, Abba and some girlbands.

The Chemical Brothers are a huge favourite of mine but again didn't really have electronic acts in mind when compiling, oops. They were so good live last year!

Wham! have some great hits in their back catalogue - 'The Edge of Heaven' probably my favourite. Irresistibly catchy.

Snow Patrol also good - 'You're All I Have' and 'Called Out In The Dark' are particularly stellar moments.

So I have another 30 pointer for you tomorrow and 1 more on Friday- getting to that point in the rate now....

The Chemical Brothers

Glad my 30 pointer made it this far, they've done better than I would have expected. Not everything they've released is great but they've had some amazing albums and a pretty flawless run of singles of the years.

Good chance I'm one of them, don't see them reaching triple figures and wouldn't surprise me if there's another voter who's put them as a 30 so could be either!

Me and Dandy*, I knew it!

The Chemical Brothers are that rare act that I just don’t get bored of and continue to sound fresh, their most recent album compared to other acts I’ve liked for a long time is still so good, just never tire of hearing more of them, still releasing songs like Wide Open and Got To Keep On 20 years on, exceptional.

Also, they’re probably the best live act I’ve ever seen, always wanted to and was one of the most amazing 90 mins of my life

BIGGEST UK HIT: IF YOU’RE TOO SHY (LET ME KNOW) (#14, 2020)

Clean Bandit have gone from being one of the most exciting names in mainstream music to one I now lowkey dread new music from, they took a harsh turn for the worse after losing one of their members, sad times.

The 1975 have a fair share of good songs but there's something about them as a band that I find really offputting.

LOVE for The Chemical Brothers (and +1 to them being excellent live, my last live show for a while thanks to Lana Del Rey cancelling her concert ahead of the coronapocalypse delaying several other shows me and Jade were planning to go to this year). Snow Patrol would likely have made a list from me as well, I can't stand to listen to their biggest hit for personal reasons that I'm sure many of you are aware of but I love most of the rest of their discography, 'Called Out In The Dark' in particular is a fantastic song.

Awww my poor brave McFly boys  44 is a good showing though! (btw there's a McFly rate in the pop forum if anyone feels inclined to take part)

The 1975 are very hit and miss for me, I have liked some of their output (TOOTIMEx3 is a particular highlight, the title aside) but like Bre said, there's something quite offputting about them.

Clean Bandit were such an exciting band for their first few singles but they seem to have lost that spark lately and fallen into mediocrity. 'Symphony' was the last thing that I loved by them.

The 1975 have some really good singles, many of which I've liked a lot, but I'd have no interest in listening to more than a couple of songs at the same time. I tried to give their 2018 album ago, far too long and too self indulgent. I remember attempting to see them at Reading in 2013 and not being able to get into the tent so didn't bother
What a bad day for me! I lost 3 groups in a row. I'm thinking I'll be the first one to lose all groups and I'm not surprised. :D
